If Porto's closing out you might want to check out the Bluff if there's a swell running...... It's 20 min south, about 12 miles
Take PCH south to Redondo, turn right in Palos Verdes Drive (After the B of A, Chevron and Buca Di Beppo), follow that around. Look at the South Bay map...cant remember the exact street, but look for "The Bluff". You need booties to walk down the trail. paddle out in the middle and then make your way to indicators, the left in the south end cranks. Middles works too. not too localized. have fun man!!!!!

The street you want is Paseo Del Mar. park here and walk down the Bluff on the fire road.
