What's the harm in skiing a few runs w/ a lone skier/boarder you rode up with? I do this all the time, well except when they are dragging a bloody axe and talking about their boss who just fired them or something like that.
I do think he was being a prick. You are better off not having skiied w/ him! I guess apologizing wouldn't hurt. He may have just been having a bad day. But it sounds like it's him who should be doing the apologizing!
