In one of the early reports I believe he mentioned that he uses the freeride pluses. The bindings are visible in some of the summit shots and appear to be the black and red design that is consistent with this binding.

Going the Dynafit boot route will give you more options for the future, whereas, say, an Adrenaline will limit you in future binding selection (but no doubt be a good inbound/out-of-bounds shoe)
I'm in this boat now............But, if you decide to go with the Adrenalines, I have a 27.5 or possibly a 28 that could be for sale. PM me for details or if you are interested.

I admittedly didn't pay as much attention to the gear spread pic as I followed more closely during the season.

In another thread, our man KW reported a 300mm AT boot sole. This is more akin to a 26/26.5 Garmont shell.

so from what i've gathered e2 is ellipse 9 but with a rubber sole.. thus e2 doesnt work with alpine bindings but is compatible with naxo's & FR's? does anyone know how light these e2s/ellipse 9s actually are (bathroom scale..)?

The Ellipse 9s with the stock liners are definitly a little bit heavier then the Scarpa Tornados, but I'd say the shells are about the same.
