I've noticed lots of new gimps recently. I guess it goes with the end of the season. Figured some of you may want to hear from one of last Spring's gimps.

April 1st, 2005, Mammoth Mountain - complete ACL, Grade 2 MCL, crushed LCLs, shredded post-lateral meniscus, fractured tibia (crown).

May 17th, 2005 - ACL recon w/ Achilles allograft, shredded meniscus removed.

3 months PT, ongoing weights, cycling, cardio, etc. etc. etc.

April 6th, 2006 - with my Cti2 strapped on at Mammoth carving the groomers (drueling at everything else). I'm not nearly as strong as pre-injury but I've come a long way and know I'll get back to 100% over the next year.

At 11:30am on Thursday the 6th I was on the deck at Main, Ski Patrol side, fueling up, thinking about the last year. The rescue attempt came in. It really put things in perspective for me. A blown knee is an inconvience. It gets better, you get used to it.

I'll be back up a few more times before the season ends. It was cool to be on the snow again and it really worked my quad.
