I love how looking back is the best thing the dem's can do. even on a bad day the GOP will alley whip you guys this fall and in 08. Not only that, but if Mitt Romney's healthcare system in MA works out we might even have a Mormon president in 08. How ironic, a fuggin Republican from Mass as president.

stop talking about wacko's like Feingold and Biden for your presidential candidates. google Phil Bredesen from TN. it'd strange for you because he is actually electable.

Heh - Romney's Social Medicine will never fly in the Red States, but yeah - he's a "Republican."

Biden tried once and failed miserably. He needs to stay in the Senate, as does Teddy.

If Feingold's a wacko what do you call Frist?

Romney's your kidding me, it's definitely not his.

And Gyptian, you obviously have never read any of my posts, since I rarely look back.

And all the right does is appeal to the fears of the masses. They couldn't run on their record because they haven't been right about a single issue in years.

Yeah, nominate a Mormon, then you'll see the religious right's true colors. Freedom of religion or something right? Sure.

I call Frist a poor leader, but when you're following up a dick bag like Trent Lott(or more accurately Daschle) there isn't much to live up to. his Nuclear Option gamesmanship has worked out nicely, though. regarding Daschle, how do you go from the leader of your party in the Senate to being beaten in the next election. must've had a case of the Gore's.

as far as Romney goes, I said if it worked, not that I agreed with it.

In case anyone is in the dark as to why John Kerry isn't POTUS.

    From Sunday's Meet the Press:

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12169680/

my favorite is how he invokes Kissinger, the same Kissinger that kept us in Vietnam. Kerry's expediency knows no bounds.

Feingold a wacko? Just because you don't agree with his politics doesn't make the man a wacko. What has Feingold done that warrants the label wacko? Let's see he tried to redefine campaign finance only to have Bush, who said he would veto the bill, sign it into law and then not enforce it. Bush seems to like not enforcing the law. He didn't support the war in Iraq and considering the problems we're having now I'd say he had a valid reason. Even though he didn't support the war he still supports the troops by voting for the funding support. He called for benchmarks that would lead to the removal of troops. Isn't that what the Whitehouse is talking about now? He agrees with the Congressional Research Service, a nonpartisan arm of Congress, which questions Bush's legal authority regarding the warrantless domestic spying on American Citizens and wants to hold Bush accountable for his actions. Considering he's a member of Congress I understand why he would agree with them. These must be a few of the reasons he's a wacko.

Assuming he runs for President we'll see how wacko he is during the debate. From his past performances against Republicans he will embarrass his opponents.

Good God, you're a ninny! Certainly Kerry and Kissinger have plenty of faults, but here's Kerry's quote: "I mean, you remember the times of Henry Kissinger, shuttle diplomacy, an incredibly engaged effort to try to get resolution in the Middle East?" He's only talking about Kissinger's efforts relating to the end the Yom Kippur War. From a US standpoint the major benefit wasn't so much the peace, but the collateral consequence of Egypt cozying up to the US instead of the USSR. Ever hear of the Suez Canal? It's kind of important.

Rubbish. Many top scientists are always moving about. The United States still has the best science. Period.

Neal Copeland and Nancy Jenkins?! When was the the last time they had an original paper? Never mind, I'll look it up myself.

Rubbish? you don't think that we are beginning to lose steam in the science race? That our schools no longer produce the worlds top scientists, coupled with the fact that other countries are actively recruiting US nationals, and succeeding due to the administrations head in sand approach to science, is alarming.

Americans will soon be the minority as places like MIT/Berkeley/etc.

Please, go ahead, walk around MIT's campus or any large tech/science university for a day, it already looks like they're the minority.

A vast majority of Americans are very happy with being fat stupid and lazy along with making themselves obese on McDonalds then sueing someone because they're too fucking stupid to take care of themselves.

For fucks sake look at this board, half the people want to live the ski bum life and be slack ass bitches in service jobs then turn around and bitch that our country is going to hell in a handbasket. (But there is a vast majority of people here that are very successful contributing members of society.)

True, there's always going to be a split between people who want to do something and those who don't. However, that's a necessary division in society. But on this board, at least everyone is pretty intelligent (most of the time).

The problem is that we are losing more and more of those people who want to contribute something to society to other countries. And the way things are shaping up in the world, it's no longer military might that determines who's strongest, but economic and scientific might. And because of the policies of this administration, our super power status is endangered.

Dude, really. Do you even read what you're typing? What do you suppose would happen if nobody worked those service jobs? Sure, it's great that some people 'contribute to society' by doing social work, practicing medicine, teaching, etc.... but I think a lot of hard working Americans would take offense at the insinuation you are making.

Have you ever waited tables? Dug a ditch? Scrubbed a toilet?

We're not losing steam at all and we are producing most of the world's best scientists. China still sends (what it considers at least) it's best students to the US for graduate school or postdoc, some of the best European students likewise come to the US for advanced training. Japan, too.

Now, China and India are certainly making strong efforts to bring back their US-trained people and their having some success.

Edit: And, personally speaking, losing many of those Chinese scientists is really our gain. While the good ones are very good, a lot of them suck...I mean, they really suck.

McCain/Feingold single largest attack on free speech in our time. not only that, but you can thank not only moveon's prominence, every Soros funded action group, and the swift boat boys for it. he needed cricket's chirping for effect after his call for censure. perhaps if he had a leg to stand on he'd have atleats one senator on his side on this issue (Ted Kennedy and John Kerry don't count).

I will give him points for holding the line on his votes, where the GWOT is concerned. I don't agree with him, but he can claim an amount of principal that every other presidential candidate from the senate cannot.

Regarding kerry's performance on meet the press it is just another example of how bankrupt the Democrat congressman are regarding foreign policy. all this benchmarking bs is exactly that, bs. you can set goals but to treat this like you're baking a democracy cake does nothing but set up the Iraqi's for failure. Iraqi's have had three different elections trying to establish a government over the past 18 months. There is still a ton of work to do and many different factions to be appeased. it takes time. US deaths have been trending down in the past couple of months and the Iraqi police and armed forces become more independent every day. there will be setbacks, quite a few I'm sure. but given the chance Iraq will figure it out.
