What is the coolest ski bar?

Over the years many of us have spent (what seems to be) endless hours sharing beers and stories w/many friends in some really cool ski town bars.

Wheater it's the Tsaina outside Valdez, Londonder in Kitzbuhel, Mad River Taver outside MGR VT, Chambre neuf in Cham or the Chammy in Squaw, most ski town bars seem to just rise above your typical drinking establishment.

What is the one bar that embodies that 'apres ski is all about, the killer place to enjoy that last run, a place you start to think about by 3:30 on a chest deep, your favoriate spot to celebrate the end to another epic day?

I like Apple's at Sun Valley (total ski racer bar... watched the Hannenkahm right after I finished up at the Masters race this year) and the Mangy Moose at Jackson Hole.

I vote for the Mangy Moose.

Chambre Neuf at Cham is full of braying rich British twats.
Monty Python's version of the cougar phenomenon:
"This is a frightened city. Over these houses, over these streets hangs a pall of fear. Fear of a new kind of violence which is terrorizing the city. Yes, gangs of old ladies attacking defenseless, fit young men".

The apres spot I've enjoyed the most is the Pub at the Goldminer's Daughter. There's nothing all that special about it, but that's what makes it great. It's chill, it's not too loud, it's got the big glass front so you can see what you skied, and food that tastes really good after a day of skiing pow. It's perfect for sitting back and reminiscing about the day and other great days. I think another important factor is that it's at Alta. Who's unhappy to be at Alta? ...Exactly. Bonus points because there's an excellent chance that someone there will have change for a nickel.

Let's see I live in Killington..... Can't do it, too many choices.

Now food?....there's another thread. That would definately be Sushi in Valdez, they also have this marvelous Ginger Halibut that is incredible.
Yep, definately the Fu Kung in Valdez gets my choice

Thats a good call also. I love sitting in there with the passive solar and my shades on after a great day of skiing.

The bar at the base of hintertux glacier with the hand carved wall and freaky bathroom. All the instructors sing this super cheesy Tux, Tux, Tux song at the end of the day.
The Mooser wirt and the Krazy Kangaroo are both great for stupid human tricks. (skiing back to town in the dark after 15 beers)

There's no such thing as bad Apres Ski music, you just haven't had enough to drink that's all.

I was going to throw up the Red Ram. Used to stop by there every weekend to break up the drive with a cold Beer, a Ram Burger and some Nachos. Still a fun little place with great food.
