    beta on monashee cat ops

    well, am giving up my annual AK trip w/the boyz to go cat skiing at monashee powder cats in BC this year w/the GF.....not exactly the same thrill/terrain, etc.....but looks pretty good.

    any mags out there have any first hand experience with this cat op? do share......

    It absolutely rools.
    I had a blast there, better than Retallack, plus they let you jump cliffs and take you to hairball routes. Plus Nick and Ali are really great people.
    Revive the Silver Snout Award there, don't know if they'll remember.

    It is an hour long snowmobile ride up to the lodge at night to get in, but the lodge sits in the middle elevation of their terrain.

    i think there was a piece in transworld snowboarding on the place maybe 1 or 2 issues ago.

    The place must be good. Two of my friends were there over New Years and they phoned me with their cel phone (twice!) from the top of a run to tell me how fawking awesome it was.

    They are also thinking of giving up their usual resort season's passes next winter to pay for a bunch more days at Monashee.

    BTW, I think it is very cool that your grand father is still spry enough to go cat skiing with you.

    cool, thx for the bata guys. i have head great things about this place, plus will be there w/the GF, so I think I made a good call. yeah, that snowmobile ride in sounds fun too! am stoked, going mid-march, hopefully they will get loads of snow between now and then, as yr to date, i think they are a little thin...
