Arapahoe Basin, pav chair is open

Just thought I would let you all know. I know many have been waiting anxiously for it to open. Drove by A-basin on my way to Summit county today, saw the pav chair open and many tracks. I'll be there tomorrow around 11, ask for change in line for the Pav chair. Red marmot jacket, Green DNA pants, gray helmet. Probably be on Line's.

I'll be there doing patrol training. i'll be in a light green marmot jacket, black cloudveil pants, may or may not be wearing a dark blue helmet. I'll be on an old pair of Volant Powers, and following the patrollers around. I'll look for ya.

Bump for some terrain status info.

Made some turns on Saturday at A-Basin, they had the Pav chair open, but no terrrian under it open. Mid afternoon, around 2, I was making some turns with Summit1776 and we finally saw some peopel going down Main St, Pali Face and the Spine. At the top of the chair they had a bunch of patrollers standing around telling anyone that would listen "you will hit rocks, lots of them" I had hear that earlier in the day when they dropped the rope on some untracked under the Norway chair, and all I did was hit rocks and i was the first one through. So not wanting to completely wreck my skis, I opted out.

    In other words....Need more snow.....still.

Snowfire, I saw patrollers hovering around in big groups doing training all day. I skied by twice asking for change, no response. I didnt see no stinking light green marmot jacket.

you must have gotten the wrong group of patrollers.

I didn't realize this before, but there was also a patroller s&t instructor's clinic going on Saturday- that was probably the huge group you saw. I was in a smaller group with people who were actually on duty, all we did the entire day was bootpack wadd's rock area, lower Standard, 13, No Name, and some other stuff. I looked for you all day but didn't see no stinkin' red marmot jacket either.

I hooked up with Powderfarmer for some turns yesterday at Breckenridge- their coverage SUCKS ASS. We didn't find anything good on that whole mountain- at least the run through the Doors was entertaining. Beers at his place afterwards for the game... thanks for the beers Farmer, and I'm still pissed at the game. It wasn't an incredibly pleasant ride home for Jamie.

oh yeah, Powderfarmer hasn't had computer access for awhile apparently, so if anyone wants his number PM me and I'll hook you up.

    That is all...

except is anyone interested in hitting Wolf Creek this coming weekend? We're looking for a few more people to share room costs, turns and beers with.

    cheers, snowfire

Fun turns with Crinkle. Very cool.

Snowfire: yah... those patrollers looked at us cockeyed when we skied by em on High Noon screaming "CHAAAAAAANGE FOR A NIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiickklleee"

I core shot my skis in 2 hours of skiing. We found a few bits of good stuff but they just neeeeeeeeed more snow.
