Red face Rutschblock Test with a SnowCat

As you know, it's been snowing in Cali. Kirkwood's "The Wall" has a pretty steep entrance under the chair that they like to cut an easy path to with a cat after every big snow. This amounts to a big ass heavy skicut at the top of the slope. Guess this was a bit much for after the last storm/wind cycle.

Upper crown was about 5-6ft, and went down from there. Debris trail went down to almost top of Buckboard.

    Closer view of crown...

    True....

I'm sure they are pretty stoked it happened early on a weekday at least... Took them a little longer to open this chair than usual after that little, um, incident.

It'll be interesting to see if they did any "clean up" activities after closing yesterday to cover up the evidence, and make that slope a little friendlier... Knowing them they'll tie off the cats and groom part of it.. They seem to get a kick out grooming at some insane angles...

    Wow!

Five years ago that pitch slid on a powder day during operating hours. Not even close to that in size, it was small, but it is a mogul run...

I've seen the Cirque and 99 Steps run to the flat.
