I think everyone is getting way ahead of themselves. Supposedly Cheney told Libby Bush cleared it- but who the hell knows if that's true that Bush cleared it. I'm thinking the odds are pretty good that Cheney lied about that and if he did he's fucked cause there's no argument whatsoever that the VP has the authority to declassify anything unless he actually was the one to classify it which in this case he didn't.

By not making any statements, the administration is admitting that Bush let this happen.

I think the Bush administration has set the bar so low in terms of honesty and accountability that nothing really shocks the American public anymore. The fact they lied one more time doesn't even faze us. I believe this may actually be a conscious policy of theirs and I hate to admit it, but it seems to have worked. Yeah, Bush's approval ratings suck, but he's a two-term President and that's all that really matters.

not necessarily- because by making a statement that he didn't do it that would screw Cheney over. Sometimes the administration is pretty dumb and this could be one of those times where they are just like "uhhhhhh. we don't know what to do so we better do nothing....."

Don't get me wrong- I wouldn't put it past Bush I am just saying that we don't know at this point.
