    Bike Stands

Who has one, and what kind? I remember the thread on building one, but that's not gonna happen with me, mostly because I need one that can stand alone and is transportable.

I've looked at these online just today, any suggestions?

I like this one, but it is a bit more than the others, you get what you pay for though. Pretty big sale price too.

Seems like a good stand for relatively cheap, but is the first one worth the extra $30.

Would probably do the job, but is it as sturdy?

    Same question as above

I have the Spin Doctor stand and really like it for what I need. It folds up pretty compact as well.

The odd thing for me is that since I got the stand, I have not rode as much and my wife not at all because of our little one, so I have not had to do as much maintenance as before.

Is the G3 pro, or the team version?

I've used stand #3 and it was great.

I own a park PCS something....but it has the quick release clamp instead of a screw-clamp, much better in my opinion.

Yeah, I agree. The screw-type clamp is a pain.

Advice noted...that changes things a bit, how about the new choices.

I like choice 3 because the clamp, is it stable? It's more expensive, but is it worth it? What about choice 2, also looks relatively solid.

Leaning away from choice 3, more expensive. I like choice 2, but really want whatever will be most stable.
That's the one I have....stable but I think a tripod style would be more stable on uneven surfaces. It also doesn't fold very small and it never leaves the house, but I love the clamping mechanism. I only paid about a hundy for mine.

Heh, anytime truth. Have you used it before? How is the clamp?

I'm going to try and stop into the performance store here sometime this weekend to find out. I'll let ya know mang. Looks like it's not a uber as Parks Pro Race stands would be but it's half the cost. I'm assuming this is to take on the road to races with you right?

Well, I don't have one now so it would kind of be my do-everything stand. So yes it would go on the road, I just don't want to spend a ton. I really like the tripod leg base, but the clamp I question.

I've got the PCS-1 and love it. But I don't travel with it much, sometimes I'll take it to Moab with me and that's about it. As long as you have a big enough surface, it lies flat and as such doesn't take up much space. But you need like a rear folding seat or something for it to fold flat, b/c it's kinda big. Love the clamp.

I've got the spin doctor pro G3 stand and it works great. Bomber, stable. Spin clamp isn't really an issue. Works with our xc bikes and dh bikes.

Thanks for this info....I actually pulled the trigger on it earlier today, my impatience gets the best of me.

I have the Park PC-9. Great stand. Makes working on your bike so much easier. It stores pretty easy as well. Good investment.

I also have a PCS-1. I dig it, but it would definitely not be very light or packable for traveling.

If there is a Trek affiliate dealer in your area, check out the stand availible from Wrench Force. Its around 150, has a quick release clamp and uses bearings to keep the rotation action much smoother than most stands at that price.

I have the blue park pcs with the screw-type handle - it was only 50 dollars less than the Wrench Force at retail and is terrible by comparison.

Edit: Just saw that you already bought one...anyone else shopping should check this out though
