How do the majority of mags feel about the gotama compared to other pow skis? I demoed the got, and really enjoyed it. I went to buy the ski, but due to complications they were out. I ended up purchasing the Dynastar Big Troubles, which I do like, but dont love. I keep thinking about buying the goat as a pow ski, but I think I might end up neglecting the Big T's if I do that, die to the versatility of the gotama. How do the other mags think the goat does in comparison to other skis. This would be a pow ski.
I looked at the capital BMT, but am not sure anymore as it is hard to demo. Is there anything else out there that is a better powder ski? I really enjoyed the gotama's stability at speed, float, and overall comfort/ease of use. Should I open up to other skis? Maybe go DP? Big powder skis dont seem to be made for small people either. At 5 foot 9, its difficult for me to manage anything over 185.
I don't think the Big Trouble and the Gotama are really equivalent. Everything I've heard is that the Got is softer, and it has 13mm more in the waist. The BT is actually fairly stiff, and I've found it good for destroying chop and it still edges decently. In powder though, I've been disappointed. I just picked up some 4FRNT VCT 190's that I'm going to put to the powder test in the morning.
Well, tell me how that works out for ya. I skied the 168 gots (only size demo avail.), and though the trubs may do better in harder snow, the goats rocked anything soft.
