    Wolf Creek

We're heading down there next weekend for mlk day. Anyone know of good (aka cheap) places to stay, or have any info about the bc around the area? I'd like to do two days at WC and one in the bc, but I don't know the area at all- I'm not asking anyone to give up their stashes, but a general idea of a good place to skin would be most appreciated. Also, any Maggots in the area who would want to hook up for turns/beers?

Most places in Pagosa Springs are cheap. If you are looking for a place with some amenities and actual hot springs, go to The Springs Hot Springs Resort. You will probably pay around $80/night, but your body will thank you after dipping in those hot springs every night.
As for bc skiing, there's some road hits directly across the road from the ski area as well as a couple hundred yards down the west side.

    Thumbs up

Going to be stuck in Durango, but fair warning to you it will be busy with Texans over at the Creek on MLK.

There's usually skintracks on the left side of the road at the top of the pass. (coming from Pagosa side). When you get to the top there is a small parking lot on your left just as it begins to go downhill, if you see the area you went to far. you can also access some more goods on hte right side of the road a little further back down prior to reaching the pass, but I would be wary as that side has a lot more snowmobile traffic.

As for local accomadations if you want to spring for a few more bucks the
Springs isn't too bad of a deal, comes with lift ticket and the hot springs are nice there, good rooms too.

    Here's a good Link if that's a bit steep.

Wolfy was great last Friday, and it's been nice since, have fun.
Skiing, where my mind is even if my body isn't.

For really cheap lodging, stay on the South Fork side. For BC, ask the patroll about resort accessed BC or the outdoor store in Pagosa. There is a ton of stuff their. Most is very obvious if the vis is good. There are some really cool tours from the ski area. It's been a while so I couldn't give you real good directions.

Thanks for the info guys! Esp. the warning about the Texans. BC sounds a lot better than having to deal with those all day.
