    Skate parks are fun.......however....

I discovered a few things whilst playing around at one yesterday:

    1. I'm out of shape

    2. I suck.

    3. I envy the little punks on their bmx bikes doing spinny things all easy. (see #2)

    4. Skateboarders don't really ever bother to look out for other people

    5. Riding my bike is damn fun

    6. Manuals are freaking hard

    7. I'm about ready to ditch the gears and go single speed

    8. I'd rather be dirt jumping

    9. Road riding is still lame (this was more of an affirmation than discovery)

i am keeping my skill training at home for now. I can get hurt in the street outside my house, no need to do it in a more public place

Manuals are fricking hard, but i just learned it has a lot to do with geometry and there is a reason those guys are moving around so much while they are doing them. .

cs, if you suck, then the rest of us are much worse off than we originally thought.

practice young patawan, i will follow the same advice.

    Trials are very physically demanding.

Isn't riding a skatepark like DJing but you can go off in a billion different directions instead of a single line? Especially at Sandy. I've only ridden a bike there like 30 seconds but that's the impression I get.

We need to hit that up soon. I've been putting in major evening baby time in hopes of some furlow on evening or Saturday morning.

most jump lines have that flow that's hard to get in a park...unless it's at the new Flow location in columbus with a huge jump line and a 16 ft wall ride. damn, i need to get my knee better.

    1. Lean back enough to lift the front wheel but not too far or else you will fall backwards.

    manual tip

not that I am all that great but saw this in a video.

Lean against and smooth wall and find your balance point using the wall to belance you left and right while using your hips for fore-aft.

I agree, skate parks are hard, and concrete hurts way more than dirt.

edit: also it's all about your line of sight. focus on a goal, like the a crack in the pavement or something and try to manual past it.

The skatepark here is pretty strict about no bikes. I used to ride my longboard in it though - I have a line all the way through that would be fun on a bike. They have one of those fence access things that you can't get a bike through unless you lift it over, but the fence is about 8 feet tall, so your ride would drop a ways unless someone on the other side wanted to catch it.
