    To answer your question:

Evidently Baldy Chutes is only open when I'm not there or I'm injured. With the exception of once when no one would go with me because they were tired and "we'll just do it tomorrow" (wasn't open the next day, of course). DAMMIT. And it was open twice when I had wrecked knees: Once when I had just had my ACL reconstructed and was just visiting (hadn't moved here yet but spent a day sitting at GMD reading so Mr.AG could ski, and I took very distant pictures of people skiing it) and once right before I had my partial menisectomy last spring and I could barely walk and did 2 runs before deciding that I absolutely could not put off surgery anymore.

So, uh - I guess you should pick a day when I'm stuck at work and have at it.

Should have prefaced that with [rant]. Sorry.

You hike up from like the shack over where you'd cross into Snowbird (from Sugarloaf). And the routes that are open vary depending on snowpack.

I've done nothing but work all week. Good news is that I racked up about 10 extra comp hours for whenever the next storm hits...

Hey Yaze Bro if you really wanna ski Baldy you kinda need to be here during a dominant high pressure system.
They dont open it when it storms. I know you are risking missing out on Pow if you come out when its clear (and I admire that flexibility or commitment) but you run a better chance of getting Baldy on a sustained high pressure pattern.

    good luck

I agree. Red Iguana is not my personal fav--too much sweet sauce on their stuff which I assume is their version of mole.
I like a few other places more. Sounds like Woodsy's got some places dialed, including La Frontera. However, for sushi, Ichiban is the best in Utah IMO.

Rodizios. We used to eat there a lot. The food was incredible the first couple years. Now that it's mediocre we don't go anymore.

Get that special while you can. They go back up to $48 in 3 weeks.

Too bad the quality is going down! I went there two years ago, and it was really good. I'm comin' back out end of January, and I was hoping to hit it again. I guess I'll have to sample somewhere new...

I wasn't impressed with Rodizio either.....

the fact is that I was in SF during christmas and missed the big dumps.....so I didn't want to head out there after no new and forecast calling for high Pressure.....

hopefully I'll get another shot at baldy later this year.....
how long is the hike? and what are the options...I can see the gnarly lines, but it looks like the snowbird side isn't as demanding....

    thanks guys...

Yeah, but the hard-boiled quail eggs at the salad bar rock...

Desert (not to be confused with another Woodsy fav...the Deseret Lounge) Edge Brewery at Trolley Square has some of the (cough, cough) better beers in Utah.

Can we talk more about hot nekkid, blonde Utah chicks now? Thats a good subject when hungover on a Saturday morning. Dead Goats a peeler bar now?

How does Lone Star on Fort Union stack up? I'm no Mex connoisseur, but I thought their fish burrito was the shiz.

Also, we ate at a sushi joint on BCC road that was really good. The fish was really fresh and the service was excellent. Mikado I think, they also have a spot downtown.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Lone star is "cool" as far as mexi fast food goes. The burritos, tacos are way yummy! I recomend this place partly becuase its one of the few fast food mexi places that sells BEER!
