I hate yankees as much as the next Seattlite, but i am never quick to jump to conclusions. A small internet blurp regarding a lawsuit never tells the whole story. While RJ has to own up to his responsibilities, I might very well tell an exgirlfriend to go stick herself after demanding a "truck, computer and college fund." Yeah, yeah, its "for" his kid but who knows. Just cause he has money doesnt mean he should have to indiscrimnately dole it out. Just my .02.

I agree. It would be nice for Randy to help pay for the girl's education though. We do not know the whole story here, maybe the woman is some whore who saw a rich athlete and got pregnant on purpose to get money from him. That is truly sick and disgusting behavior. The sad thing is, it is the girl who loses out here. Possibly the reason RJ never contacted the girl had to do with the mother. I do not know the whole story, but it would seem to me that an appropriate gift for the girl would be to have her father acknowledge her and be a part of her life. The fact that the woman asked for expensive gifts as opposed to human contact says bad things about the kind of person she is. I would have far more respect for her if she had just asked Randy to acknowledge his daughter, not buy her things.

Frankly I think the mother is just trying to get more cash out of Randy. Unfortunately it is the girl being left out. I think Randy has proved his point somewhat about what money grubbing lady she was. You have to remember that she tried to trap him with the child in the first place. Actually, he's only been making the payments since 98, so 76k times 8 years (including 2006) means he has paid 608K.

That should still be enough to buy her a truck, a computer, and pay community college tuition.

If the girl needs money for tuition, she can ask Randy herself when she's 18 and he can pay it directly to the school without it ever touching mom's hands.
