My god, I can't believe I'm posting on this thread.

I'm curious, though, about what mormons believe when it comes to all who lived before Joseph Smith's time. Everyone at that point did not know a thing about Jesus' supposed time on our continent and the rest of the story that goes along with it. Was everyone who ever existed on Earth just misguided before that and, therefore, went to hell? Is it believed that all non-mormons will burn in hell if they don't convert before they die like born-agains do?

I don't believe in heaven and hell as I find them to be pretty selfish concepts, but am just wondering.

    Dude--
It was. Until about a page and a half ago. I can deal with informative discussion, honest curiosity and generally honest inquiries as to things people have heard and what not. As soon as it turns into a pissing match, I'm out.

Sweet. I had a sixer of Bud Light and got there too late to take a chair to hole 1, so I hiked up last time I played. I saw a deer and smoked a spleeff off of 7.

Dood, with that statement, your post count went to 999, which when inverted reads "666". OMG! I knew it- you're doing Satin's work. And probably Velvet's, too.

All those people who have or will live on this earth will have the opportunity to hear the gospel of JESUS CHRIST and accept it or reject it. If it doesn't happen while they are alive on the earth they will have that opportunity before their eternal consingment.

Hell is a fugurative term used merely to mean if you go to hell you will not be in GOD'S presance. All those who choose not to accept the gospel of JESUS will be consinged there but it won't be a giant fire where they will be burning in torment for eternity.

He is engaged in a rythymic activity that also has a broader phrasing dictated by the snow. Very similar to those Mormon hymns I was talking about earlier.

Also similar to long granite routes. And the dervishes at Dead shows a while back. We all are sort of chasing the same groove, even if in different churches.

So no one else finds it curious that JSmith was hangin out with a bunch of dudes who were fed up with bouncing around the country and ready to leave his ass when, behold, the very night before a likely coup, God sets old JS up with a copy of his newest autobiography that happens to state that banging numerous women is godly?

I have been wrong before, but I would actually offend myself if I gave this a moments notice.

The King James Version of the Bible is the same everywhere, and yes, a lot of meaning can be lost since it is written in more of a middle English type of dialect.

In terms of other biblical translations- ones such as the NLT (new living translation) have been translated from the original language in which the books of the Bible were written in an attempt to not lose anything in the translation- the same goes for a number of other translations you can find out there. I have grown up mainly using NLT while others use other translations and it is good to read things from more than one point of view so that if you have trouble understanding one you'll be able to understand the other- and the fundamental aspects of each book has not been lost.

Damn, if you put it that way I'm in.

On a serious note, I do appreciate those who honestly shared their belifs. I grew up Baptist, and a lot of the reason I don't share those belifs anymore is the type of hipocracy that demeans other views and religions. as has been said in this thread, we all believe some crazy shit when you look at it with someone elses eyes. In my experience mormons are as diverse as any other stereotyped group, but some of em are wackjobs, like you guys.
