    Travis first impression

My new Travis showed up and figured that since I remember seeing there were a couple people waiting on them I'd write a little about what I initially thought...

I got the 203mm Triple Intrinsic Ti (large version). Out of the box, it's very tall, very light (not quite Fox 40 light, but close), and very white. Considering I'm not all that good, I probably shouldn't have bought a white fork, but fuggit. I knew Manitou claimed 7 lbs, but I was honestly suprised how light it was for how massive it is. Like I said above, it's a very tall fork. It's got 203mm of travel, but from the seals to the bottom crown is around 250mm out of the box, I'm probably going to end up knocking it down a bit. I'd like to compare it to a 888, but I think it's a taller fork.

I didn't get a chance to really ride it, but bouncing around and riding down stairs, etc, it feels really good. One of the things that I like about the fork is that the adjustments seem really straight forward. The Intrinsic dampening doesn't do much to the initial 1/2 of the travel, but it does seem to make the end travel ramp up much slower or faster depending on which direction you go (this is what Manitou says it's supposed to do). Once I actually ride it, I'll post more, but it seems like it should be really good.

Mine's being installed as we speak. I haven't seen it yet, but word is that it's friggin' sweet!
