yale's always been my first choice, though I hear from 12 other places in the next week I'm pretty much set and incredibly stoked (they deferred me from early) to be going where I want to go.
    Nobody skis at Dartmouth

If you choose to go there though, you risk turning out like Mildbill. Careful. BeerPong.

I did. Then I married her. My parents did also. Though I agree that (goping to school with the girl) can be a consideration but can't be the only or main reason to go to a particular school.

ok. So there is one person....but I can list off 100 others who haven't stayed together.

so - I'll put it this way then - staying together in college is very difficult. If that is what you want to do, then more power to you. But make sure that it is, 100%, the school you want to go to.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

Word. In fact nobody has givin the true words of wisdom to these little punks.

Don't go straight to college from highschool. Travel, bum, get stoned, travel more. College will be there when you've pulled your head out of your ass and opened your eyes a bit. You'll learn a lot more with a little world under your belt.

Sick and ashamed and happy (and, "lack of skiing" notwithstanding, I can think of plenty of reasons for a young American male to go to school in Montreal...),

Oh so just because you have "been to Vermont" makes you the expert huh? Go back to Canadia you damn kanuck (No offense to any other Canadians..I am hating on Bakers right now).

And the skiing in Toronto is so much better than Vermont! Were you a Hockley Valley regular?? Or Chicopee Ski Club with the amazing 200 feet of Vert and average snow fall of 59 inches. Yeah, skiing in Toronto is STELLAR!

Now if you were comparing Calgary to VT I would understand your position...You shouldn't hate on VT...it's a chill place to live and has good skiing for those of us who are not lucky enough to live out west!! And I don't hate Canadians as I stated before...just venting on Bakers.

And PS- what does living Toronto (ALL THE WAY OVER NEAR BUFFALO, NY) have anything thing to do with how well you know VT...To bad you never fell into Niagra Falls when you were in Toronto.

PS- I am a JONG so I expect some retaliation. Bring it on- I have thick skin...I think.

Chilled...Just had to vent! Gotta represent ya know...No reason to come down on VT!! Like I said, good terrain/snow/lifestyle for those of us who aren't lucky enough to live on the best coast.

having been on the campuses of more large schools than most(ND,cinci, louisvilee, florida, unc, duke, oregon,o regon st.,texas,a+m,cal, stanford, u. wash., CU, etc.) and also liking skiing; i'd recommend

    1. oregon, oregon st. -great campuses, beach+ski not far off, good college towns. i was more impressed by these 2 than ND or berkley.
    2. u wash., colorado-boulder.-great campuses, ski not far off, good college towns.

in my opinion, your undergrad doesnt matter too much if you get good grades and have at least an average college in your major and they have a decent almuni connection/job placement/recruiting for their college.
what matters is what you do in grad. school or career once you get out.

Well, I just wrote you about an entire page outlining my visits to CU and UVM and gave a ton of feedback and told you how I made my decisions, but I hit some weird buttons and I deleted the entire thing before I posted it. I am WAY too lazy to retype it (it was a fucking masterpiece, too. a real shame....) so I'll give you a really quick response.

I got into UVM, CU, and the U of U (the only three I applied to). I chose the U (Honors Program), after visiting all three. In this order I like, the U, CU, and UVM, but it was DAMN close. Academically I was thinking I'd be making a sacrifice if I went to the U, but the Honors Program seems to be reallly strong, which is what sealed the deal for me(and the skiing, well, there is no comparison).

That being said, I was offered a full ride to Dartmouth, but they found out I didn't have a Range Rover and changed it to about a 50/50 scholarship. So I'm going to the U. Fuck em, right?

I agree that colleges suck. They suck a lot of money out of your wallet.

Then again if you think education is expensive try ignorance.
