    Cutting skis? Possible?

First, I have been debating if Sanouks are the right ski for me. The soft tails ski fun, but I am sick of doing wheelies out of jumps. If you stick it just perfect it is ok, but I can stick a huck on my explosivs much cleaner due to the tails.

AND, Britney needs some fat skis....but she isnt that stoked on what there is in smaller sizes (180). Pontoon, Lotus, Spats (which she likes skiing, but just too heavy), Sanouks are all made for men.

SO.....would it be possible to cut off the bottom 13cm of a Sanouk? Maybe do a good apoxy job and have a solid ski? Discuss.....am I high?

One thought I had was moving the mount up and chopping the tail 13cm might give it some more Pontoon like qualities. Wider tip, tapering, less wide tail.

And if he doesn't kick your ass, I'll wave some pretty benjamins in your face first. Are the blue Sanouks not a swallow-twin like the samurai's?

It is just a thought.....and they sure are pretty.....but they'd still be pretty, just shorter.

What is my girl rips the shit out them for the next 10 years?

Same twin...only difference is the sidewalls (more classic, not the carbon).

    I'm thinking maybe she needs a 179 Made'n.

I have no comment on the cutting of the sanouks.

isn't the widest point of the tail at the apex of the swallowtail? It is on the samurai's. How would the dimensions change You'll lose some of the tail float, but groomer wise it'll ski similar, I'd think.

If you do decide to cut them and mount way forward, make sure you check the screw length for the bindings. You may have to use a 7.5 mm bit and grind the screws down so you don't go through the base on the toe screws. This is just a maybe though.

What about a 183 rossi axiom or powder plus. Heck I woulsd trasde my axioms for the snouk's.
If ski companies didn't make new skis every year I wouldn't have to get new skis every year.

Really, short Sumo.....I did not know that. Hmmm.

Probably wont do it, but if I was going to get rid of them, I would rather Brit ski them than give them away for the prices maggots would pay.

This is quite possibly the dumbest idea I have ever heard for multiple reasons.
1, you would then move the mtn point far to far forward, and the ski wont be thick enough for the binding screws.

2, The thickest section of the core needs to be under foot not behind your foot for obvious reasons.

3, Good luck sealing the cut.

4, You need a tail block for a very good reason, and cutting one would elimiante it.

5, you could easly sell the skis and buy different ones with the money.

6, Where you stoned, drunk, or both when you though of this?

Ha, now there is a straight answer. At least straight up "Tech Talk".....not "Ski Ethics Talk".

All good points, this is what I wanted to hear. Not stoned or drunk, just want some 180 Sanouks.....but I believe I agree with your points.
