I'll be in the capital for work from the eve of March 31st to April 5th. Anything interesting to see apart from the local REI store? Someone wants yurp topo or gear (as long as it is easy to carry on hand luggage)....

I'm sure others will chime in, I'm going to be away that whole chunk (Tahoe, then work) so no luck there. The cherry blossom festival is starting up this week, the next couple days are supposed to be the peak, but I'm sure they'll be nice for a bit longer. There are usually a lot of other things going on along with the blossoms, so probably lots to check out, take a peak here. BTW, the weather is supposed to be really nice - Friday's forecast is sunny and 70.

Not sure what my schedule is, but I will know in a few days. I am still a bit of a gaper myself, so I would love to do some more site seeing.

Well, besides the Monuments, the best free museums in the world, and the Capitol/White House all there is to do around here is eat and drink. I suggest the latter. Can't do anything 'til Tuesday the 4th, but would love to meet up with you. Where are you staying (which part of town.) There are many different centers of activity here (Georgetown, Adams Morgan, Downtown, Capitol Hill) so we can tailor a stumble around your locale.
I hear Italians are boring and can't handle their wine....
T H A N K S !!!!!!!!! I am still not sure of what I can do on the 4th, I'll keep you posted!
