meh. I use the Gore rental / tune shop for tuning when I'm there. Cheap, good quality, and convenient. Alpine here in Saratoga is lame.

These guys: http://www.highadventuresbp.com/index.html seem pretty cool, although I've never bought anything from them - they seem to be the backcountry experts south of Lake Placid. Dalbello dealer, too.

I'm in Albany here and I second High Adventure. They're nice guys who seem to rip (and I think they lurk around here too).

Born and raised in VT, relocated to Poughkeepsie by the man. I usually hit the southern ski areas and meet up with fam and friends still in VT.

Summit? Huntah? Midweek? Interesting...very very interesting...

I seem to have missed the first iteration of this thread.

me! i do! me! i do! me! i do! me! i do!

at "the edge of the suburban area around new york"

    cool illustration:

yellow dashed line is the NY/NJ state line. foreground is mahwah, nj. behind it is suffern, ny. behind suffern is harriman state park on the right, ramapo "mountains" (max elevation: 1164") on the left.

for where I live, follow the pink line (rt 202) up from the state line. I'm on the second street before it makes the right turn.

I live within a not-quite world record frisbee throw of the NJ state line, but I'm still in NY damnit!!

wow thats like 4 people who live in the Albany area, we almost have ourselves a full fledged crew, we should think up a badass name and make some stickers

For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

Stopped by High Adventure the other day. Nice small shop, but they had AT gear and were way into the Blizzard line. Seemed like some cool people.

    1. K-Mart
    2. Mount Snow
    3. Jiminy Peak
    4. Windham Mtn.
    5. Huntah
    6. Whiteface

I'll probably be taking 12/18-12/22 off just so I can enjoy what will hopefully be the best conditions of the early season.
