I'll be there with kids, wife, and mother-in-law in tow. (MIL rips, btw -- level 3 instructor, just back from a pow and steeps clinic at Snowbird. Deliberative more than fast, but she will ski anything and do so with major steeze.)
I'll probably shout for change at the bottom of Summit both days around 9:05, after dropping the kids at team. Otherwise, look for the Bros with the magenta bottoms, and either a red Spyder or yellow Columbia jacket (or maybe a red HH shell if it's really warm). AlpineMom will be on this year's Phat Luvs (pink), AlpineMomInLaw will be on last year's (blue).
Keep an eye out for the kids' teams' races this weekend. Most likely, they'll be on Ladies' Slalom on Sunday morning. Shout encouraging words, sans profanity, if you happen across them.
I'll be there with the kids this weekend. Drop off at the tree then head to Summit for 9:00-9:03ish. My daughter wants to do the Fun Race on her snowboard (its supposed to be fun, right Dad?). I'll be snowboarding both days. Look for one of the only guys on hard boots and an alpine board. Depending on crowds, I may break out the big board again. I'll be taking photos of the kids in the fun race with my big lens.
Next year we'll get my mom to come and we can have a Grandma's race!
I was planning on heading up on Saturday but I ended up getting an invite to ski squaw for free (thanks Jim )...I just hope they can spin some lifts...
....Sunday is a possibility but there's a big demo day at Rose so I'm up in the air....if not this weekend, definitely next (and possibly Tues or Wed if we get a nice pow day)...
Here's hoping this storm brings us copius amounts of snow with low winds and small crowds
will rally up today (BTW kids, after bragging about my new record last Friday, the 2:30 door-to-door, I got nailed by CHIPS on the way back to Marin on Sun ) and get set for possible afternoon storm skiing on Sat, and hopefully a sunny pow day come Sunday.
Winds look pretty fierce with this system, so wouldn't be surprised if they don't get Summit spinning tomorrow, or at least untl later in the day, etc. They most certainly won't get any of the hikes open as heaviest snow and wind expected Sat morning - the afternoon.
Sunday looks to be the day for sure as of right now.
