IE. I have tried Opera and Firefox, but always had plug in issues and non-refreshing pages.

I've been really liking Camino. Seems much faster and crisper than Safari, which had seemed faster than IE. Very clean, very elegant. Does what I want it to do, and doesn't have a bunch of elaborate features that I don't want/need that slow me down.

Some pages never really looked 100% w/ Safari, which isn't the case with Camino. Also doesn't do that occasional crash that Safari used to do to me (crashed about 10% of the time when opening Weather.com, rarely with other websites).

Only downside is that a lot of the cool little integration features with programs like quiksilver don't seem to support camino....but that's all just gadgetry anyways.

Opera felt cumbersome and slow, and Firefox never really grabbed me -- I always had little issues with it. If camino ceases to thrill me I'll have to try out the latest release of Firefox...give it another shot.

IE is Microsoft...and we all know microsoft = satan.

Firefox definitely is better as far as it working on damn near everything on the internet.

Opera is definitely a faster browser, more easily customizable, and has the password wand which I love. I use opera for these reasons and deal with its shortcommings on the webpages it doesnt interpret right. Ive got confidence itll get better as the updates come out.

from what I understand, most web pages are designed for IE (maybe more designers are tuning into Opera, FF) but for most things, I think FF is far superior...ease of use, stability, great control-f function, tabbed browsing, sticking it to the man, etc.

If you ever even think about partaking in some internet porn, IE sucks ass.

I use Firefox and like it, but the other (non-IE) options mentioned are also good. I'd be screwed w/o tabbed browsing.

I like Opera, have never experienced any slowness, on the other hand there might be more fancy plugins for Firefox..

Are you on Mac or Windows?

It makes a difference. You should have posted this information in your opener:

    Thumbs up

Wow...this is some really helpful information. Focus nailed some of the problems i'm having with Safari.......it does not like to read the TGR site... it has, many times, changed the layout of the Forum page, actually leaving some categories out and it is certainly not crisp. I was originally on Netscape before my other lap top fried...and truthfully, i didn't even know what a browser was, because that thing was handed to me, all set up. Thanks for all the help...if you have more, i'll listen.

IE absolutely sucks bong water. Get tabbed browsing already.

    Camino for me or FireFox.

Firefox + a couple extensions. Say goodbye to viruses, worms, advertising, web beacons, and tracking cookies. Say hello to tabbed browsing. Setting middle-click to "open in new tab behind current tab" lets me read TGR in about 1/4 the time.

    You need:
    -Adblock
    -Filterset.G Updater

If you're really serious about security and/or porn surfing, get:
    -NoScript
    -RefControl

mozilla is bloatware, way too much crap the average user will never touch (email client, html editor, and more im forgetting about).
firefox is a browser based on the mozilla engine.
both have many of the same features, but firefox will take less room to install, require less memory to run, and is faster.

Firefox has many great extensions (basically plug-ins add-ons, scripts, etc) available for it- even little things like Ebay specific add ons and menu search engine stuff that can be helpful. Mozilla is basically the same in a suite, -think about the Netscape version that had EMail messaging included too. Firefox is only a browser, you need to download Thunderbird for Email if you want it too.

Well I want a browser, e-mail client, and a little html editing for mail so I stayed with Mozilla. It's not like memory is scarce.

If you want it integrated, then yes stay with Mozilla, if you want it fast then use Firefox, Thunderbird, and Nvu for html editing. All can run stand alone.
