    Bird Brain

Anyone in JH ever ski Bird Brain? It's the couloir just right of center, involving a mandatory rap down to the lower snow ramp.

Looks pretty tempting. Photo from this afternoon.

I can see the future of this thread....

It's a cool line because it involves pulling it all together: steep terrain, big exposure, rigging a rappell with gear.

    Hmm...

Sorry- better judgement told me not to do that...

It look great, think you'll find enough pro spots for the rap...are there bolts? Slings? When is the last time it was skied?

I'm trying tio get serious here- can you tell?

    ...That's cool...loved the photo!

    It's actually "Bird Brain Boulevard".

No idea when it was last skied, but the 1st descent party (Renny Jackson, Jim Roscoe, Gregg Martell / Feb 1991) used stoppers, according to the info I have.

Incidentally, Tom T's Teton Skiing: A History and Guide to the Teton Range, Wyoming
    is an amazing resource.

Psssshhhhhtt. Dont be a wuss. Turn that mandatory rappel into a mandatory air Cant be more than 60-70 feet, or you can double stage it down to about 25-20.

Hee hee....60 feet of air onto a small snow ramp (blocked by the tree in that photo, but it spills off to the looker's left and leads onto the moraine) = high consequence and far, far beyond my limit...

But technical lines that involve rapping & mountaineering skiils are of interest and more of my personal focus.

I think I saw something like that on Romper Room when I was five.

Seriously, where do you even buy something like that?
