    SLC traffic question

    Hi,

Is there such a thing as rush hour traffic in SLC? We are renting a home for a week in Sandy near LCC and I want to ski a day at Snowbasin or Pow mountain.

Assuming we'll leave our home at 7:15-7:30, are we going to encounter traffic going there and coming back?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    NO, not really.
It really depends on the weather if its dumping then expect delays, otherwise traffic moves even if there is an accident.

we have a super sweet new interstate hwy system thanks to the Olympics

I have only experienced traffic on foothill about the time that classes start in the morning at the U.

There can be traffic at times, but you'll be leaving early enough you shouldn't have any probs. You'll also be going the opposite way of traffic for the most part as well.

Actually your first 10-11 miles will be with traffic but after you pass SLC you will be home free.

I made it to the Basin in under an hour from Sandy

I have seen some brutal SLC traffic, but most of the time it's okay. Your situation may depend on a lot of variable shit, and I am not an astrologer. Nor am I a traffic reporter, or even a resident of Smog Valley. So I guess you'll find out when you get there.

    Ice, totally agree.

Unfortunately, my new educational endevor makes that appear that she's being carved from a milling machine.

    Huh.

    Thanks all...

Buzzworthy, I am leaving this coming Sunday for what will hopefully be a 2 month ski bumming trip (taking a leave of absence from work, hopefully they won't bother me before March ).

I will be going to Jackson first and will be going to SLC probably around the 21st of Jan. I am booked for the avie course at Snowbird on the 24th. The mrs and a half dozen friends are coming over for the week of Jan 24th where we have the house in Sandy. After that week, who knows. I guess I will follow the snow.

I am obviously looking for ski partners, so if anyone is interested, I'll gladly buy the beverages
