Do you realize that you've just posted an admission of ignorance so breathtaking that it disqualifies you from commenting on any political or economic threads from here on out?

Oh, and Nobis acted like an idiot. It was a retarded move to run from the cops, but I'm sure thats not really the best example of him as a person, and I'm sure we've all done stupid things too. Well, maybe not that stupid.
Ok, back to reading this thread, cus I'm sure its a goodun.

DALLAS, Texas (AP) -- A man running from a routine traffic stop early Tuesday sank waist-deep in mud and apparently died of exhaustion and cold while authorities tried to pull him out.
Deputies stopped Shawn E. Leflore, 33, for having an outdated registration sticker, sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Don Peritz said.
"He thought he was wanted. That is why he ran," Peritz said. "But it turns out he wasn't wanted for anything, except his driver's license was expired."
Leflore ran about 700 yards off the road, where he got stuck in the mud, Peritz said. The weather was windy, and temperatures were in the upper 30s in the dark field, which had been saturated by heavy rain.
Deputies searched about an hour before finding him. They called for help and tried for another hour to pull him out, but Leflore died, Peritz said.
Peritz said officials believe Leflore suffered from exhaustion and exposure. Toxicology results were pending.
Why do I think this is the key part of Woodsy's post:
"Toxicology results were pending."

It is sad to think that it works this way, but if your attorney is well known within a particular courthouse, and knows the judge, it goes a long way. It worked for me. (plantiff in a civil case.)Originally Posted by girlski0912

Free Nobis!
I wasn't necessarily hinting at courthouse politics (but won't deny that they exist). I was referring to whether this defense attorney is familiar with the judge enough to know whether he issues warrants despite a waiver of presence. It also makes me curious if maybe Nobis posted bail and was on supervised release of some sort. If that that's the case, and especially if there are felony charges pending, some judges don't allow for waiver of presence.Originally Posted by Cono Este

I think if Nobis loses his sponsors or has problems crossing borders, he should go into politics. Drunk driving doesn't seem to have much of an effect on one's ability to get elected.

[QUOTE=sea2ski]To anyone who thinks you can't get away from police in a car chase, should talk to some of the people I grew up with and did get awayQUOTE]
I did once in Syracuse. two cop cars, and two civilians were chasing me and a friend in a Dodge D50 (four banger-two wheel drive). They tried to box me in on the highway, I did a CRAZY-ass left hand lane change/severe braking just as we were passing an off ramp. I swerved hard right and made the exit, they were going too fast (60 or so). We drove deep into a neighborhood I knew...I found a pretty crowded parking lot, shut off the lights, and just sat tight. They drove right by us 20 minutes or so later, so me and my buddy sat in the truck and drank the six pack that we had 'stolen' from a grocery store...It was after 12:00, so they wouldn't sell it to us. We had no plan to do this, but for some reason, we both had the same idea at the same time....I threw a $10:00 bill on the register, and we both bolted out the door with the sixer of St. Pauli. Two guys from the store tried chasing us, then the cops found us all on the highway speeding...that is when I threw out the Starsky and Hutch clutch move. Totally got away with it.
Good god, that was so stupid, fun, exhilerating, and crazy....ahh, to be 20 again!
I haven't read the whole thread, but i did talk to Nobis just before he took off on another shoot. I won't go into details, but it was NOT like the Paper or the Police reported. It definitely was NOT a high speed chase. Nobis is one of the most stand-up guys you'll ever meet and I hope this all gets worked out fairly.
Sarge
This is turning into the TGR equivalent of the Tanner's dead thread.
A lot of people earn their turns. Some just get bigger checks.
why don't we just kill this thread? can you imagine if you did something stupid, and 100's of people from the internet started posting/commenting/speculating/and judging you? would suck.
sarge is a stand up dude, so in Nobis. Let one of them comment further after all the noise dies down. until then, we should respect the man and stop all this internet drivel. just one mans opinion
