No. I don't know how it will turn out. I'm just curious. I will bet that he gets off on some of the charges as part of a plea. Furthermore, I posted above the punishment for DUI. It's not that bad, and in line with the rest of the country.

Sheesh - what a fool! What was he, drunk?

    Since when?

I agree he gets off easy.

He won't lose his sponsors, he'll just get new ones at AA.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one.

Lemme get this straight: Did you say that the suspect "did nothing that didn't warrant excessive force"??!! And you're a PROSECUTOR? WTF?!

Look, Matlock, I'm pretty scared here: either the force was warranted, in which case is was by definition NOT excessive, or it was NOT warranted, in which case it WAS excessive. There is no such thing as warranted excessive force. I mean, ho-lee-shit!

By the by, how was the Caribbean during your law school years? Good margaritas, I hope?

instead of the Red Bull helmet, maybe Jagermeister?

Budweiser logo gear instead of North Face? I hear their expediton gear is bomber.

WOW... thats some serious shit! Too bad TGR didnt have a follow cam on that incident. Nobis obviously needs a permanent vacation from the booze. If he completes rehab by the time this goes to court, the judge will give him probation and a hefty fine. If he tries to fight it, the state of utah corrections dept will be his latest sponsor.

What an idiot. Nobis should go to jail and stay there for a while as should all drunk drivers

I don't think he should go to jail, that's reserved for repeat offenders...

Oh that's right he is a repeat offender...

Quit harshin' on ShawnB. I don't know the dude and obviously am friends with Girlski, but I would have written, substantively, the same thing. Girlski obviously didn't re-read what she typed out, cuz ShawnB's critique is right on the money and funny as hell!

Nobis is prolly gonna lose some serious sponsor money, etc... The second and third order effects will likely be more damaging than the conviction and state-assessed penalty. Seems like a fun guy, so I hope he gets his shit together.

Nobis excercised poor judgement, but did so in an undeniably cowboy way, which inherently makes him cooler than any whiny desk chair bitches sitting in judgement sniping and posing among themselves.

    Kinda makes you wonder...

I love the attitude about cops, like the cop is always the dumbass.

If you are running from a cop for a tail light out, you have something to hide, plain and simple.

Pinner wrote this while hooked up to free wireless and driving drunk at 100 mph through Park City with a car full of naked midgets. He knows of what he speaks.

    I am full of wonder.

That said, this event seems to be a real waste since there is no video. Some tough times ahead for Nobis. Feel bad for the guy even though he is a serial Copenhagen mooch. Hopefully he comes out of it having gained something positive.

    Agreed on the:

"whiny desk chair bitches sitting in judgement sniping and posing among themselves"

But getting 2 DWI's is not cool...or cowboy...I guess you don't have kids, now I'm a father, that's kind of sh!t isn't funny any more. Neither is leading Police on a chase...

Agreed rusty, obviously just a case of girlski not proofreading.

That said, I agree with her point. if you run from the cops, drunk and hitting objects with your truck (an avalanche--GAG!), and you get a bit of a beat-down during your arrest, too frickin bad. Cops will assume that if you run that you have a reason to run and they will act accordingly. When you run and there is a pursuit you put lives in danger, both cops and citizens, and that kinda pisses off the cops a bit.

I know it pisses me off when I have to pick up the pieces resulting from dumbass shit like noby pulled.

Maybe he'll grow from this experience, could be just what he needed.

I wonder what he blew (B.A.T.) with all that good 3.2 in PC. The last time that I bought a case of real beer in Park City (Pilser Urquell), it cost me $48.
