intel chip ibooks released on April 1, 2006?

can anyone confirm that ibooks with the intel chip will be released on 4/1? I've heard that's Apple's anniversary is that day and they will be releasing the new ibooks and an ipod that is all screen with touch pad controls on the screen.

You are thinking of the MacBook Pro which is their professional laptop. The iBook is thier consumer level PowerPC notebook. An Intel replacement has yet to be announced.

Keep an eye on thinksecret.com and appleinsider.com for upcoming news. Nothing is very reliable when it comes to guessing what Apple is going to do but those two are the better than the others. Also I'd be very wary of any one claiming big news is going to come out on April fools day which is also a Saturday this year.

I'm pretty sure that Apple wil come out with the touch screen video. My brother also agrees with me, and he writes a column on ipods, so whatever. I think it could be a good idea to buy Apple stock, especially since it's been going down recently.

Aaahh, gotcha. I was wondering if that might have been the case.

From today's Apple eSpam (oops, I mean eNews):

We hope you enjoyed reading today's issue of Apple eNews. Mark your
calendars. We'll bring you more exciting news about iPod, the Mac,
and other great Apple products just two weeks from today. On
    Thursday, April 6.
So, it's not a terrible reach to imagine Intel iBooks being part of this announcement.
