Actually, the information is automatically embedded in most (but not all) digital image files (EXIF):

    http://www.exif.org/

I have a nifty Firefox extension (Opanda IExif 2.25), so all I have to do is right click an image, select view EXIF, and the following (for example) pops up:

Astro: Nice stuff! I just bought a Sony High Definition video camera; maybe I'll come hang out with you one day at Alta and shoot some stuff - I'm thinking this camera is going to absolutely produce amazing footage out in the snow!

Is that a ski jacket or a hazmat suit?

    No doubt!

I like it because I can see the total number of shutter releases Entry/Value (circled in red below)...which just happens to be very important to me...because it's a good way to figure when it's about time to sell the cam...before the shutter reaches the MTBF/max:

    Beaudy pics, eh!!!!

(By the way, Astro.........are you gonna collect this season on that Bird pass bet I lost or what? (Remember; it was a bet I made with you a few years ago on the ReMarq board that Alta would be allowing snowboards by now. I obviously lost. I honor my bets, so either claim it or release me from it, would you mang? )

    Thumbs up Wowz.

Thanks for the hard effort on the detail. I can pick out the clogged/gnar pores on your compatriots. Good work, man.

    2nd AND 3rd!

    What a coincidence.

Here are two more. Not as good as the other ones, but I figured you might want them:

Thanks for rubbing it in. I was in SLC this weekend for the tournament, and I can not tell you how badly it hurt to have to get on a plane Sunday morning while it was absolutely dumping outside. Great pics though, and I did get to at least enjoy Alta on Friday.

No offense at all, but unless it's neck deep, I don't think the ultra-tight photos have that much impact. There's no perspective or story behind the shot.

geez conner... you were in slc this weekend too.

I got to ski those same goods at snowbird all day long.

Gad2/and all those little access gates were money all day long.

I had fresh lines all day. Even for snowbird. It helps to have a local friend who grew up on the mountain and knows how to access stuff without taking any tram rides.

We skied bell to bell. not to mention saturday's seven inches that seemed like a foot and half at solitude.

And the 1 inch at alta on friday that seemed like a half a foot or more due to wind deposit.

    Nice pics.

    Thank you utah.

I would tend to agree with you on that point, however, FYI it's sort of hard to shoot quality wide-shots when it's snowing and/or blowing in semi-flat light.

Also when the surroundings are tracked out fields of powder.
