I chanced upon the derby de la meije today.... Looks a bit mental so i assume maybe a team of maggots may be in attendance ... Vertigo ?

Sounds like a bit of fun. Teams of 3 people with at least one woman and each person must be on a different type of snow transport i.e. one alpine, one tele , one mono or bike or airboard or tea tray etc etc

I love the safety advice .... very french considering how hardcore la grave is ..

The race will take place at the site of Vallons de la Meije. The start point is on the Dome de la Lauze at 3550m altitude, and the finishing line at the Romanche River at 1400m, if snow conditions permit. The choice of itinerary between these 2 points is entirely open (apart from the Trifides couloirs which are prohibited.) There will be no indications to mark the course. This is a no piste race! There are no restrictions except for a few too dangerous lines down the wild terrain of La Grave or dangerous rocks that will be marked. The choice of itinerary is the responsibility of each competitor, who will be informed of the serious risks involved while competing in high-mountain areas.
