red baron: this week in UT

Your thoughts? I need to drive to aspen this week to visit a friend and her new baby for a day ot two. What days do you think I should go to miss a minimum of dumpage here? Thanks!

tough question; are you in UT or OR now? After Wednesday there's nothing headed for UT at all, it gets real quiet & spring-like for a while.

So RedBaron....you fucked up the forecast again for the weekend...GO FIGURE!! Here is a timeline of your "guesses" for weather.

monday begining of week: possible big storm saturday sunday
Middle week: storm looks like it will be going south, 1-4 inches for the weekend
End of week: big storm coming 1-2 feet
And now its saturday and it didnt snow all day at alta....haha you fucking suck at your job bro.

    hey Alta bro-bra ED,

I know it is hard to believe, but there are other places in the Wasatch then Alta.

And if you look at your coveted Alta's website, what total do they report in 48hrs?

    Alta-13"
    Bird- 19"

last i checked, this falls somewhere between 1 and 2 feet.

I am leaning towards the idea that you suck.

go sidestep the castle, you'll find some good turns over by the wall, beatron.

Hey SkiEd, I don't know who's posts you're reading, and I'm not sure what channel you're watching, but I do know you need to chill out a bit..

Quoting myself from a few days back - the only post I made about this weekends storm:

"tough call; it looks like on and off light to moderate snow from Friday night through Sunday night. Probaby on the order of 4" per time period (in my world) max, so you've got fri pm, sat am, sat pm, sun am, for somewhere between 15" and 20" over about a 3 day period"

so, looking at the last three days for Alta, from Friday PM to the current time, we're at 22". I'd say that's a pretty good forecast.

And don't tell me I said something else on TV - since yesterday was the first day I was in the weather office since last Sunday.

I made a conscious choice a while back to identify myself here, and I really don't have a problem being called out for a poor forecast - I've certainly made a few of those; but your constant nagging, name calling, and other BS really is in bad form.

Still, you know what we say; if you're watching, you're helping pay my salary, so thanks!!!

Yeah SkiED, lighten up. Don't be an ass. I for one, appreciate RB's contribution to this forum. I can't say the same for you.

I have to agree,RB's been consistantly better than anyone else predicting the weather round these parts.People like RB that further most everyone's appreciation of the board, have many supporters & friends here.I doubt you can make such a claim,So in the words of Sgt. Hulka,

    "LIGHTEN UP FRANCIS!"

quoted for truth! Keep up the good work RB. We all know weather forcasting is far from an exact science (or at least most of us do).

I know I appreciate your forecasts, they've helped me plan some good road trips in the past!

I cartainly can't "forecast", but I am a fairly good "observer"...and my "current observation" is that you, SkiED, are a F-ing JERK-OFF!

Thanks RB, that's kinda what I wanted to know. I'm in ut now, just waiting for a relatively dump-free window before fri to head to aspen. Sound like Wed night/thurday may be the call.

    Question

I get as upset about screwed up forecasts as anyone, but, SkiEd, what IS your deal? You've got access to the internet apparently. Why didn't you look at an Alta measuring station or a web cam before posting?

I think they should just do away with trying to forecast actual numbers/inches, and just stick with one of three "forecast generalizations":

"Big Dump", "Medium Dump", "Little Dump"

    Thumbs up

Thanks SB for your work in our behalf. I know you put in extra effort to forecast the resorts for us. No one else does that. I really appreciate what your doing. Please keep it up.
I want a 6" travel 20lb MTB. I found the 20lb MTB, but only good for riders under 87 pounds.
