I will be there, doing XC, SD, and DH... that's my plan. I've ridden the DH in the past, but I think they have changed the course. At any rate, the Angelfire DH is AWLAYS fun!

Did the doc allow walking after two weeks? that's what I thought . . . you're going

Angelfire is one of the best of the season, I'm glad they are hosting three events this year - this one, final descent, and collegiate nationals - sweet!

Last year's were awesome. Same (DH at least) course as the world cup I believe. Was a blast!

Think I'll be fun-riding this season instead... but we'll see...

Ok, now that I'm all out here in Cali, it looks like I won't be going to Angel Fire. There are a lot of small races that are closer, so I'm going to try to hit up a bunch of those. Basically, I'm going to need save the travel days for the NORBA Nats and stuff later in the summer.

Do any of the Colorado mags know Leland Turner? I think he finished fifth at angel fire last year (?) He is from Breck and either races expert or semi-pro DH. Good buddy of mine and a great skier taboot.

Great way to start the year - 3 days of riding one of the best DH courses in the country. I'll post some pics when I get my camera back. It was great to see Mr. Altagirl was able to make the trip. I didn't run into any other mags, although I know there were some there. Beast kicked ass and took 2nd place in semi-pro MX. I took 7th in DH sport. There were an AMAZING 410 riders in the DH race!!!! Awesome to see such a huge turn out for the event. The weather was fantastic, 70s and sun everyday. Looking forward to the next race....

Funny, after getting back from a weekend of biking, I've lost interest in reading the skiing forum.

Congrats on your 7th in DH sport! I did the Expert XC and Super-D. It was fun, although my race results were not up to par due to having some issues w/ my brand new bike--- didn't quite have it dialed in after only having ridden it 3 times before the race. Oh well, you live, you learn, you fix your bike

What an awesome race course! I agree with Funken, Angle Fire kicks ass. I ended up 4th in 40+ Ex DH, should have done better but oh well (the local guys are really fast). I really wanted a sub 6 minute run but one little bobble put me at 6:03. Sorry we didn't hook up earlier, I had a blast riding all weekend (the new Ventana is AWESOME) and would have loved to finally get some riding in with you. Long ride home, pulled in at 2 AM, up for work at 6 sucked. I'm really psyched to go fast now...
