I remember having this discussion in a thread earlier where someone's surgeon told them that allografts revascularize after a year or so. Most of us didn't believe it, and Vin found a study that supported the claim.
But better yet - I have photographic proof!
Here's my allograft ACL about 18 months post-op:
Looks pretty alive to me!
Anyway - just thought that it was pretty cool to see what it looks like later on. I should try to find the original pictures from when he put it in - it was just a white, dead looking, stringy tendon. Looks 1000 times healthier now.

I am 11.5 months on my allograft (and feel good).

It really is, huh? It feels good seeing that - that's for sure. I guess I figured it would still look like the fragile looking thing he put in there. So it's awesome to see that it looks so alive and strong, and get that visual of how drastically it has improved!

That is friggen sweet. The pic shows it all. amazing how your body can accept the graft. Def looks alive for sure.
I've been doing rehab for a while now in anticipation for reconstruction. I will be getting allografts just becuase of the shear number of ligaments i need reconstructed (total knee dislocation)
This really puts me a little more at ease. I've been wondering about how well/ or if allografts revascularize. your looks real strong. Improves my hopes of having a normal knee again

Very cool. I think I'll still be getting the autograft but it's good to see that thing looking all burly. I've thought about it a lot and my Doc just recommends the autograft. He did my other knee which is bomber soo...
