    gps in car

Anyone ever use a garmin or the like in their vehicle, ones actually "designed/marketed" for a car. i was thinking about picking one up at rei, as there is a sale and my dividend etc. I just want to know how it functions compared to a factory unit or how it functions in general. I'd hate to was money if it ends up being shitty.

I was impressed with the Garmin Nuvi. It has a touchscreen, a good flow for inputting an address, and has a built in audio player that reads SD cards. It annunciates the turn directions, and has a pretty good sized display. Not cheap though at like $8xx.00
