    A tale of two summits

This was perhaps the best week and a half of my life.

I started my bi-coastal skiing experience at Jay Peak in Vermont for the EC Mini. The EC clique runs deep. I couldn't leave them behind for the PacNW. I also didn't want to miss the first two weekends in New England. These are often the best ones. Even if the snow would be better on the west coast, it's a tough pill to swallow when you miss one of the few pow days on the east coast. So I did both.

The lift lines at Jay were long

...but the snow was deep (skier: Raps)

Saturday was probably the best day of skiing I've ever had. After a surprisingly excellent sunday morning, I headed to Boston to catch a flight to Seattle. I arrived at midnight. I got to my hotel room around 1, and was asleep before 2, only to be awoken by a fucking rooster. If someone can explain why a rooster was crowing at 2 AM, a quarter of a mile from Seatac, I'd love to know.

The first day at Crystal was spent with Dodger, who used his day of experience there to show me some goods

upndown was also in tow, schralping the pow

Buster Highmen shows us what to do when you turn 50

...You get some pow turns with your friends

...and make sure that you're the one who gets the first run

    Dexter Rutecki drops in next

...and proceeds to rip it up

    Monique enjoying the snow

Off to the land of Loonies and Toonies. Make sure you obey these stop signs. In the case that you're trying to figure out if your British friends need to go to American customs first, and miss the sign, you'll be asked some of the following questions:
    Have you been drinking?
    Are you on prescription drugs?
    Are you tired?

To avoid this probing, you should do what the sign says.

Oh, Canada. We love your pow, steeps, and peelers.

Super Tour Guide LeeLau getting some tracks of his own

...and some Whistler steep and deep

Bacardi... and Cola... they get the job done. I asked one of these girls if she ever uses club soda to get a stain out. The question went totally over her head. Props to Ubersheist for not knowing how to use my camera. That gave me an extra 2 minutes or so with the ladies.

The apres at the Longhorn was pretty darn good. A few pitchers and a shot later and things were looking a bit like this

    Legoskier finds his long-lost brother

The drive back was incredible. The Sea to Sky highway is beautiful when it's cloudy. It's stunning when it's sunny and clear. On the wonderful drive back I thought this was an interesting scene you don't see every day. Mountains and a Porsche under a 7 Eleven sign.

    Additional highlights

-Riding up the Glacier Chair with Ubersheist and a french canadian chick from Montreal. We told her we were from Nairobi and that we owned a meat stand and a goat farm. She then told us she was a stripper. I then asked her to marry her.

-Quote of the week (perhaps this is a rerun). From none other than Splat: "Yeah, the hotel manager came up to our room to tell us to stop smoking pot. Then the front desk calls up and tells me they found my underwear."

-The following exchange at U.S. Customs.
Customs lady: How do you know each other (myself and the Mulletizers)?
    Myself: We're ski buddies.
Customs lady: How did you meet?
    Myself: An internet forum.
    Customs lady: An internet forum?!
    Myself: Yep.
    Customs lady: oooook.

Haha, I've been asked the same thing at customs several times and I usually go with the "through a friend" response... a little less shady.

Great skiing with you at the EC summit. I look forward to more turns this year, maybe a Tucks trip in April?

That had me laughing for days.

Also, I DID know how to work your simple "point and shoot" camera. I chose to play dumb.

Nice pics! Glad to see you had fun in Whistler skiing and...not skiing. I'm sure it didn't compare to bunking with me and Woodsy.
Jay looks like WA, almost. Glad you took those shots, I forgot how bluebird it was at that point, my memory is of almost continuous snowfall.

That day at Jay was sweet and we's glad we could take you to the goods. Have you got any pics or vid of Mit dropping into Brambles? No worres. Snow cushioned all.
No skiing to be had in Tupelp Mississippi but the memoris and stories keep me going.
    Yeah.

Finally spending a little time at the computer and I find this thread...so much for the "quiet Ryan" theory! Glad to see you had so much fun at W/B!
