    Loveland OB Death Sun 3.12.06?

Anyone have more information on this? Just heard it on the radio. Can't find anything in the usual places yet.

They said it was a kid snowboarder, trying to get from Loveland Basin to the Valley through an out of bounds area with a friend, only one of them made it.

This is true. A 13 year old snowboarder from Nebraska suffocated in pow on the Seven Sisters, while his two friends continued on.

    How sad.

I wonder how some boys from Nebraska knew about OB access from Loveland?

    Wow that sucks.

they'll probably have to close that gate. I always wondered if there was liability there for a gate with no controls.

Friday night I talked to the Loveland patroller who found the poor kid.

He said he's patrolled Loveland for 20 years and that was the first time he'd gone into the sisters. it was dark, he looks over the cliff band and sees nothing but the bottom of a board.
Kids seperated from their friend so he could huck the rock. Hitchhiked away without him.
    Tragic shame.

Thread drift= Church groups are out of control here. I work some at the hotels and the church-group kids are THE WORST! They have like one chaperon for 12 kids. You never see the chaperons Those kids cause more damage than any other group we have. Seriously!

Remember church camps? Thats where everyone learns to smoke and do drugs. Pastor's son...usually the delinquent of the group!

Just because it's affliated with your church youth program doesn't make it safe or healthy!

Well, as you know, people just aren't educated about the BC and make tragic mistakes. I'm sure being from Nebraska, doesn't help. RIP!

Its really too bad that most of the media reports have failed to mention that the Seven Sisters area on Loveland Pass, is a US Forest Service closure area.

    A very sad accident...

I hate hearing about things like this, especially at 13. It really is tragic.

With the coming 2 weeks of OOS spring break traffic, I hope that this incident might be our only one this year.
No, the real point is, I don't give a damn

Where are the Seven Sisters? Are they on the north end of the ridge above Lift 1?

Lookers left of chair 1. Directly left of OTR. You drive under them on the way up Loveland Pass from the Loveland Basin parking lot.
