    Post No wussies allowed...

The Arctic Man race starts at Summit Lake, AK tomorrow (the 12th). For those of you who haven't heard of this one, it's burly. No pussies or gapers allowed.

The skier begins at a summit elevation of 5,800 feet and drops 1700 feet in less than two miles to the bottom of a narrow canyon where he meets up with his snowmobiling partner. The snowmobiler meets the skier, on the go, with a tow rope and pulls the skier 2 1/4 miles uphill at top speeds of up to 80 - 90 mph. The skier and the snowmobile then separate and the skier goes over the side of the second mountain and drops another 1200 feet to the finish line.

Faster than shit and a huge party to boot. This is the 16th year that they've run the race. Last year I think it drew over 10,000 spectators.

No doubt. I wish you had that crowd over here Owens. I actually like the technical functions of this forum better. I like the fact that you can send private messages to other members. That's a great feature. Not to mention that your forum always seems to be up and running for the most part.
