    Wolf Creek comps/discounts/hook-ups?

Trying to put together something for tomorrow to go down there. Any help with tickets anyone?

There's no such thing as a hookup, discount, etc. Once in a while there are 1/2 price days for college or local app. days but that's about it. With this being spring break... no such luck. Only way to save a couple bucks is to stay at a hotel that has discount tickets. But it will only save you $3.

Nope. Talked to some locals & there is no such thing 'cept for the "Locals appreciation days" Thay even have Weekday season passes & do not get a discount on weekends. It was worth every penny of the $45 I paid yesterday & I come from the "don't believe in payin for skiin'" old school.

    Thanks you guys.

I'll probably just pay the $45 bones tomorrow.

Thanks for your report btw, sounds awesome. Their latest report said it's still snowing heavily a half hour ago. Hope the place didn't get totally douched this weekend. Anyone know if it's supposed to keep nuking there?

Oh yeah... and I knew it was gonna be stellar when I pulled into the lot on Sat mornin at 8:30 only to be directed to the best parking space = 3rd car from the ticket booth. It was like they reserved it for me.

Does Wolf Creek get douched? I have been under the impression it is a very uncrowded place...

Damn Foxy, thats almost as good as the 125"er back in Jan 05. - might beat it by the time this ones done...
Correct me if I'm mistaken but I think the snow is drier this time.

Also, as I remember from last week it looks like Mondays Jetstream prediction is very close to what it was last wed/thu. If the moisture will continue maybe it will cycle again.

As for the douching... It's spring break, lots of beginners from Texas that shall we say "Didnt care for the conditions" and lots of locals I'm sure came out too But many Duragatangs were at Purg. I found plenty untracked on last chair. Just gotta scope lines & earn 'em sometimes.

Damn that's alot of snow. It'll make you stick to Wolf Creek's flats like flypaper! Better bring your poles ya'll, you're going to need them. Or a sail.

Yeah, that was 125" over ten days. about a foot a day average. Most of it came in at around 20% water content too, causing a massive slide cycle. We had ten foot crowns and one close to a thousand feet wide.

This storm's average is almost two feet per day. Density has stayed under 10% water content for the duration. Smokey.

'Sposed to keep snowing through tonight and then taper to showers for tomorrow, of course that could easily mean another couple feet. Moisture looks good through tomorrow with the jet cooperating but I don't think conditions are favourable for our famous "cut off low" (that's when the jet 'drops' the storm and it just stays put until it's spent, kinda like a flooding river jumping a bend). The amplitude of the jet needs to be bigger, followed by a rapid shift to the north that I don't really see happening. Sick storm anyway. Wish I could ski.

No wonder yesterday was better than marathon sex!

That 125"er was the most "Full On" conditions I've ever marched around in. Did the BC over the towers around the headwall & back mid storm in that one. was actually too much snow. Beautiful winter formations on the trees. Then came back to camp/ski for a few days a week or two later - Jumping down the huge crowns with gigantic winter packs on sure sucked. (undisclosed location = best tree skiing in Co).

I've been there for five years, but part time the last couple 'cause I went back to school. This is my last year, I've got a job in SLC, moving there this summer.

Here's the link for that jet stream forecast but it only goes a couple days ahead. the rest of the week isn't up yet.

I JUST got back from Wolf Creek. Went with funkendrenchmen. Let me tell you this, YOU ALL NEED TO GET DOWN THERE!!!!! It's worth the drive. The pow was sick. The only time I've skied pow that deep was in Winter Park.... the big blizzard 3 yrs ago where they had 73 inches in 72 hours. Wolf Creek was just like that this weekend. We woke up to 30 inches of fresh this morning and it kept snowing ALL day. No signs of the snow letting up when I left either. Those of you driving from the front range, if you take I-25 to 160, the roads were great between Colo Springs and South Fork. No snow there.

Now stop reading this and get on down there!
