    Wolvering Cirque-Front Country pow 3-10-06

Went up to Wolverine Bowl from Patsey Marley today with Matthew. Matthew just got a nice medim format camera that he was dragging along. I'm sure he got some nice shots.

    Alta at opening bell.

Drop the gates, here come the masses. Alta.

Cornice development is rapid in this cirque.

But a rope kinda helps you peer over the edge.

To find untracked goodness. Nobody had entered the cirque yet. All the hucksters and film makers were slacking today.

We took advantage of the emptiness and pilaged line after line, untracked.

    Still nobody to be seen.

10 minutes from a ski area, noon oclock, nobody around.

On our last run in Roman's, people started to show up. All the youngster hucksters doing their best Jamie Pierre impressions. Still nobody had skied Romans, so we did.

    More of the same.

After Roman's, the shit show was in full effect. So we bailed out. West facing run down Patsey Marley wasn't cooked yet. And we skied untracked to the car.

5,950 feet of untracked goodness, with only a short section of firm snow in Roman's. Can't complain.

Nice shots. Looks like you guys really got after it today. Love to check out your TR's, very stokeworthy.
Turning down the canyon after dawn patrol the last two mornings to go to work rank as two of the more painful moments of my life. Can't wait to go out and sample the leftover scraps this weekend.

As usual, nice stuff! I was among the masses at Alta this morning; We were pretty high up in the Collins line, with a few familiar faces from the board. Let me tell you what it was like.

Kelly and I were two of the first people on the Ballroom traverse, and we bailed just before the first gate by the cliffs and found some great snow. By the time we got back up, Ballroom was toast.

Went around to Backside, and the gate was closed with a "Opening at 10:30 to improve Skier Experience" sign on it. Well, the Backside was open from the top for all morning for those who chose to boot it , so by 10:30, when the lower traverse opened the herd heading out there expecting fresh snow, didn't find it.

No complaints, as it was a real fun morning, but man that mountain was busy, and I've never seen so many people STOP on traverses as today. Makes me want to join the HCAC.

Looking up to the Castle, the soldiers were lined up like dominoes, so we didn't join that party, and with only two hours to ski before work Catherines was out of the question, so we went for a little hike up to the liftline under the Albion chair, which was closed for the day, and found this...

I don't have the Bro's, I have the Dynafits. But the Bro ho's would have been nice today. The frigging Dyna's are a tip diving bunch of crap.

Xover, today I was face to face with the "I wanna be in a ski movie someday" punks. All the little hucksters filming eachother, talking on radios, smashing into rock walls, pile driving frozen avy debris chunks the size of small cars, and other debauchery. It was the ORWC, otherwise known as the ONE RUN WONDER CREW! Make a huck off your cornice, straightline to the bottom, bro, brah. Now let's get outta here, cause we have Fritschi's, but no skins. Back to the resort youngsters, your mommy is calling.

Wow. Couldn't agree more. Very impressive work, and kick ass site. That is so core that he hauled his Medium Format up there. Very cool--and nice TR sucka.

I can only imagine what his site would be like if he would have gotten after it this year like he did last. Women - the biggest distraction

Like a fine wine his work keeps getting better with time.

Would you say that's cuz they're too stiff? Curious... They're light + fairly wide...

Those photos are amazing. And that cornice is huge! I'd be scared to be around it, even with a rope!

Always a pleasure to read your TRs. Shooting medium format in the BC is awesome!

I have been taking lots of shots, my problem is the lines are not very nice, and all the pictures look like crap. What is an F-stop again?
