He only missed two letters, and you can't get off with "typo" on the to/too imbroglio, brutha. Nor can we pretend to ignore the incorrect comma prior to "is not", see above.

Kettle gotta watch what he call the pot, nawmean?

Wow, digging up an argument from many weeks ago? You must be pretty bored. Also, that usage of the comma is correct.

Actually I guess it was Franz who was bored, it was at the top of the page when I saw it a bit ago.

And I respectfully beg to differ on the comma, but so it goes...

Well, if you want to lazily test out the comma theory, check it against MS Words grammar checker. But since the section of the sentence is a complete thought, with a logical rest in the sentence, the comma belongs.

Cant...I'd explain the awesomeness of the name to you, but I'm unsure if your mind could handle it.

You still studying your ass off? When we going to see you back at Funfetti Fun House? Plus...Rail Jam tomorrow. Those Iggies would be perfect for a serious Stowe Rail Jam.

Are we talking about the same comma? I'm referring to the one prior to "is not" in the bit I quoted above.

    FWIW, which isn't much.

I rescind my original post that EMS might be worthy of checking out. I now agree with the above sentiment. I was in there the other day and asked if their AT bindings ever go on sale, and the salesman stared at me, blank look on his face, and finally responded with "You mean those ski-type bindings?. Ummm....I don't really know. Maybe. I mean...I don't know."
Definitely sounds like the type of place to NOT go to for a ski mount.

    Same comma, yes.

I guess if I get really, extremely bored at work today, I can look up the exact rule. But I did a grammar check on it and it was kosher.

edit: wait a sec, are we seriously having a discussion about proper comma placement? I apologize.

No no, this is important shit, let's carry on.

See, with the two commas you've created a parenthetical and parentheticals should be able to stand on their own. The parenthetical you've created is both a sentence fragment and an incomplete thought, so the sentence parses much better without the last comma.

    Take that!

edit: btw, where in Mass. are you from? Just curious, I grew up there too.

I grew up on the Weston/ Wellesley line. But now live in Cambridge, which is nice, but it's far away from where I want to be.

But back to the commas. Your rule would be correct, if that was a paranthetical. However, the sentence contains two instances where a comma is called for. The final comma is where you would Use a comma near the end of a sentence to separate contrasted coordinate elements or to indicate a distinct pause or shift.

Hah, which side of the line? I grew up in Wellesley off Cliff Road, maybe a mile at most from Weston. Where'd you go to High School?

No, on Ledgeways, right by Rock Ridge Pond, from Cliff you'd take White Oak Rd. or coming the other way up Garden Rd. Went to to the Brown School and then to the school that destroyed you guys in every single sport (at least while I was there), The Belmont Hill School. What year did you graduate HS?

You're a lot younger than me, I doubt we know anybody in common. Did you know Mildbill is a Westonian too? And that Basom and Steven S. Dallas went to High School in Weston (at the Cambridge School)?

I can't beleive anyone would even consider going to EMS for anything but clothing.

Really? I've met MildBill at stowe when skiing with CantDog, but never talked about where we were from. Pretty cool guy though, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting the other folks yet. But look forward to getting the opportunity.

Mass, Iceman could be both of our fathers.

Ig...next weekend looks like a temporary end to the insanity, so hopefully I'll be skiing again. Plus you can then explain the screen name to me.

Now that I am back from the wilderness of the Austrian Alps where I unleashed the Monster with the (self-mounted) Naxos, I am glad to see that this douchiest of threads has turned into a happy Masshole reunion ...

I think the Naxos were mounted correctly on the Monsters though:
