What the hell does push'd mean?

So I know I've been relegated to the depths of roadie geek, but I've still been enjoying the bantering in the other thread between SC'ers and Yeti'ers, all the while wondering when I'll be able to get a 575 of my very own. Anyway, I am curious as to what push'd means, I know some company does something to the shock, but that's about it.

My new bike has about 1/32nd of an inch of travel if the tire pressure is low, so I don't really need it, but still curious.

Push is an aftermarket shock rebuild company, I think they are in Ft Collins. They are a ceritfied Fox warranty center, but they also revalve shocks with their own stuff. They made a name for themselves before the DHX when people were getting into Romic and Progressive, they would revalve Fox Vanilla shocks and make them feel more like Romics, or however yo wanted them to feel...most likely like a Romic...plush but with some low speed compression damping that would give a bit of 'platform' but without feeling all dead ike a Progessive.

Push a directory name onto the directory stack. pushd always sets the current working directory to the directory on the top of the stack.

If you don't specify any options, pushd exchanges the top two elements in the stack.

Oh sorry, you're talking about road bikes.

I don't road bike, but unless I've really missed something, they don't have rear shocks that need customizing.

No, I wasn't talking about road bikes, I was just being sarcastic to those few who give me shit about road bikes.

    This stuff makes sense though.

Actually rhe rubaix from specialized and the Pilot 5.9 From Trek are available with rear suspension bits. look for them in the "Spring Classics" which feature large stretches of brutal cobblestone roads in France and Belgium.

Are they actually using a shock or just other forms of miniscule suspension? Either way, I don't think anyone will be sending their road bike suspension to get Push'd.

AG, I've heard about these suspension bits as well, but I don't think it's actually a shock, could be wrong though. However, I agree with you. Push'd probably won't see any road bikes anytime soon.

Trek's rear "suspension" for the Classics is an elastomer section that connects the seatstay and seat tube. They just cut out a section of wishbone and replace it with this stuff.

The chainstay is carbon, and flexes enough to move when the elastomer is compressed, and there's a small hinge where the seatstay meets the rear dropout.

    1/2" of travel.
    It's idomatic, beatch.

The Specialized Roubaix has carbon seat stays with "ZERTZ" inserts that absorb vibrations, but it does not have a compression type suspension component. Other mhigher end models of the Roubaix (Elite,Comp, S-Works) have full carbon frames and also use "Zertz".
The coefficent of desireability is inversly proportionate to the degree of availability.
