    Talking Snowbasin Raw footy 12/26-30/03

Well the video from the 26th-30th at Basin has all been uploaded in my computer and a raw edit has been put together. Huge thanks to GT for all the filming and mailing me the tape. It takes a lot of work to stop and film this stuff which can lead to frozen fingers and fogged goggles. It's all about spreading the stoke, but know that it takes work.

The order of appearance in this film (no titles or anything) goes as follows:

    CS' buddy
    CS
    meats of evil
    foggy goggles
    ski bum Z
    Flykdog
    Curry Powder
    MD9

The file is a little more optimized than I had hoped, but it will have to do for internet purposes the file is nearly 9 megs. Hopefully you can tell what's going down in the video.

I'd prefer if you downloaded the file to your desktop for viewing (thus saving me some bandwidth) if you'll be repeat viewing (and if you like seeing me land on my head you'll watch this one over and over).

Oh, and for some reason the server I'm using is slow as hell tonight. I have no idea why, but be prepared.

I'm having trouble getting the whole video. I can only get the first 3 seconds or so and there is nothing coming in from your site.

Even though I can only hear the first 3 seconds of the first song...
what is it? I feel like I've heard it before, but I can't place it.

    UNFUGGINGBELIEVABLE!

Awesome footage MD9...after having spent Sunday with Flyk, MOE, Lumpy and Buzz tooling around Snowbasin I finally know how huge those hits really are. Best powder footage ever posted by a maggot...no competition. Nice shooting Gt40, next time I'm at SB I promise it won't be a Sunday.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty stoked on some of the footage too.

It appears as though the server I use is happy again. I just downloaded the flivk at work pretty quickly.

Z, yeah that was the head landing I mentioned in the first post. It was the first air of the day and we had no lip on the hit or anything. A total mess, but funny and soft.

truth, did you get a chance to ski the upper mountain? I can't wait to get some footy of lines up there.

VT, do it man. It's gonna be good.

lumpy, I think we only had one run with you in it and it was from so far away it was pretty tough to see. Sorry mang. We'll get you in the next one.

The music is track 8 from sigur ros' album ().

    Nice work guys!!

GT40, props for filming so much during all those powder days. I haven't been able to get motivated to do it. Nice job with the camera, real steady.

MD you should have a ton of good footage by seasons end, can't wait to see the 'rough' edit become a finished product.

Caddy, it was over 5 days, but we only filmed for a few minutes on the first day. I think between the two cams we had close to 50 minutes worth of footy. It took some work editing it all down to 7 minutes.

    snow2knight, sounds good. Where's tabernash?

lph, I hope we do. It would be fun to put something together like maggotwood for this season.

It was cold...damn cold and with the wind and shitty vis the upper mountain was not all that appealing. We did snag a quick shot down lone pine which had good snow, especially skiers right of the apron. That was all of the upper mtn hijinx we endured due to the temps. To quote what Flykdog said to me at the top of the chute, "Dude, yer nose is white." We found some good tunrs in the trees off Grizzly though and milked that for all it was worth. Can't wait to get back there and see a bit more of the good stuff.
