I tried the search function, and found information, but its old, and with technology changing so quickly I figured it'd be worth the hazing to post this. I can get a new Canon Power Shot A410 through work for $134. It has 3.2 mega pixels, and a 6.2 opitical zoom. I've never owned a digital camera before and basically want one for skiing and mountain biking. Any input would be great, and I have to decide by end of business tommorow.

Technology is changing fast; you are concered about dated information. So you choose a year old camera model with 3.2 MP resolution.....
OK, I'm down with that. The A410 is not breaking news, you are paying a fair (cheap) price for it, and, its a great camera for a low budget starter. Be prepared to upgrade the memory card to 512 MB. I have the A620, and find it to work well for skiing, with compact size, fast processing speed and good battery life.Last edited by Cirquerider; 03-10-2006 at 04:14 PM.

I didn't realize it was a dated model, sorry. I'm a serious techno jong like I said. I work as at the pool at the wynn, and their closing a store. Sorry about that again.

yeah, the 610 is the way to go.
a410/510 have the original DIGIC (or something..) processor and the new DIGIC 2 is supposed to be much much better.
