    It's not like their freaking Geze or EssVar

    I know i'm inviting this, but really, what's with all the hatin' towards Marker. I've been on them for 16 yrs and never a problem on any type of terrain from coast to coast! I want hard proof to back up your slackadasical comments: ie- pics

    Somebody here has a video of a Marker prerelease causing a shoulder injury, just skiing along casually on a groomer. The video is posted somewhere here on the site.

    Word.........I've been injured a few times due to wipe outs(riding out back seat landings) caused by my ski blowing off. I've only had one pair of Markers (M44RR's) that was around 15 yrs ago and I will never use them again.

    Raced on Markers growing up, so I too had that early and naive attachment to the red and white bindings...

    But I stopped after I noticed that, for no apparent reason, I could start kicking one of my skis off with the din +2 for my weight. Just lift the ski of the snow, kick, and boop! gone. From that experience, I'd just say they don't have the lifespan that a 50+ day season requires...That was 7 years ago. Since then I've preferred the reliability of my Freerides. (!)

    Markers suck balls. I used to break my MRR's every week in slalom training. Every week, Sports Page, my shop back home in NY would replace them out of their stock.

    Sports Page = RAD

    Marker = SUCK

    Two words: Vertical Release...(the upward release of the toe)
    It may save your knee, but don't try to fight your way out of the back seat or land back or that ski will shoot off like a rocket. Salomon's do not vertical release. On Atomic's you have the option with the yurn of the screw. Marker's have vertical release and you can't turn it off = SUCK.

    And easy on the ess var's, who said they suck? Atomic's (evolved from ess var) are still way better then Markers...

    ESS VAR > MARKER
    GEZE > MARKER

    ESS VAR = ATOMIC
    GEZE = LOOK/ROSSI

    Geze designed and built the toe that Look uses on all their bindings. Plus they even used a Look-ish heelpiece.

    I rocked ESS bindings for many, many years without any problems. They didn't have any diagonal release or anything else fancy, but they worked as well as anything else from the 80s.

    Low elastic travel = less retention, more injuries.

    I was skiing with a ripper, ex-racer chick one time. We were coming down this groomer and when I passed her, my left ski hit some of the plow debris on the side of the run. I was standing straight up and my left ski (M48 Racing) decided to take a walk into the woods. I blew up and the girl laughed. She said she'd never seen someone eat shit so hard before. Thanks Marker.

    I loved my Gezes - If I could find a shop that will touch them I'd mount them on my current skis!

    And just to think, you were so close to getting laid. Stupid Markers.

    Skiing Markers = No sex with hot ex-racer girl. Can I make it any more clear?

    And that's the final nail in the Marker coffin right there.

    They're pretty cool I guess if you like your skis popping off.

    Not sure that Bean was on Markers, since Aerialists land in the back seat pretty much every time and the ski ejections would get old.

    The Marker toe design is much more prone to prerelease than Look or Salomon. Ther elasticity of the markers is nowhere near that of the others. I notice this when I test for elasticity when I mount new bindings. Something about the design makes it hard for the boot to return to the neutral pstion after a sharp blow.

    Actually it's three words: Full Spectrum Release. Up at Irwin the guides (many years ago) named a small huck Full Spectrum because clients on their stock pow boards would almost always pre-release from the toe upon landing. Why would a binding maker design something that releases with upward pressure on the toe piece? Sideways pressure, of course, but pure upward pull usually indicates recovery is imminent. Never understood that design.

    you want proof? try the search function. MARKERS ARE NOT FOR AGGRESSIVE SKIING. Their pros only ski their race binders modified with the metal bar across the toe. We hate them because we have all pre released at some point and only come away with horrifying stories of injuries or near injuries directly caused by their shitty inferior products.

    Mine was at a demo day and when i got done with my first run i almost beat the rep with the ski i was so pissed.

    Raced on MRR's for many, many years & never had a single problem with them. Had several pairs other pairs of Markers as well, and can't think of a SINGLE pre-release.

    Maybe racing & moguls aren't "aggressive" enough. Shit, I should hucked some 80 footers to test 'em out. Oh well.
