Wow, what a day. Finally found a way to ghetto my ski boots into sorta fitting: one pair of socks, doubled over at the cuff, and wrench on the boot's power strap.
Anyhooo, Snowbird was bluebird from 11am or so on and the place was DEAD FUCKING EMPTY. I really wanted my board but was glad I skied when the snow and visibility were both top-notch.
Spent most of the day in Mineral, as it was the warmest, sunniest place. Can't believe how much it changed in one week. So much is covered up. I don't think it was that covered up at all last year.
Silver Dipper was around the border of my comfort zone. Shame, too, cause the snow over there was like deep butter. It was really fun to point it and kinda cruise through the chop and slop, but I don't like the way skis tweak your legs when you fall.
Got quite a few untrackedish lines here and there, especially in the more mellow stuff off of Baldy. Snow was s00per creamy and fast. Had a few good double dipsy turns, and a few good faceplants.
Last 2 runs were highlights. Started skiing more aggressively on steep (for me) pitches, instead of just surviving. Found the harder I skied, the easier it was to relax.
