Looks like things were good up at W/B today.

A group of us toured Stevens Pass today and found some fresh turns down here.

Yea Lee- it was kinda funny how the mags separated into a younguns posse and then the notquiteasyoungunsbutjustasstoked posse. We saw you guys ripping as we were riding up Glacier chair. GOOD times.
    Believe.

Yup, looks like Summit north and south are off to good starts. Stevens was fun yesterday. Started out with low vis and snow, but cleared up by noon. The morning crust turned into some good spring-like afternoon skiing.

Z-Bo, Squirrel99, Shirk, Chainsaw willie, AD, Up an Down, Dodger, Wandrin*, SilentStorm, divegirl, Legoskier, non-maggot Matt from NZ and maybe a couple others I'm forgetting in attendance.

What an awesome day...much thanks to Lee, Sharon, and Toby for showing us the goods and calling me out when I needed a bit of a push. Sorry I missed all you guys today, tried Glacier at 10 and 12 but didn't see anyone. Lee, you were right - the legs were thoroughly thrashed (still kinda are) .

BTW, those pics kick ass - thanks guys.

hey sorry we got slit up lee. after you said lets go to glacier everyone went to 7th heaven so i followed. had a great day. did disease ridge.

took the safety course today and am acutally learned quite a bit. never knew there were so many permanent closures on blackcomb.

explored another section of cbc that we had never been too even after 4 years here. we didnt cross a track in there for 4 runs and had some awesome pillows.

skiing whistler tomorrow. i guess were meeting at the lightboard at 9.

Me and my buddy Perry met up with everyone at glacier creek at 9ish saturday and headed up the lift. When the initial crew split up, we flipped a coin and went towards 7th with the "younguns" group. Had a few decent runs chasing people around the couloir and spanky's, then me and perry agreed that for that day we cared more about the deep than the steep, so we headed up to corona bowl. There were some tracks from the day before, and it looked like we were maybe the 3rd and 4th people to do it on saturday. Snapped a few pics:

    Where we are going:

From whence we came: (from spying on other people's backcountry reports, particularly leelau's I think we skied down what I believe is called "Don't Swill" and then skirted along the spearhead glacier towards corona.

Perry shadowing my tracks like any good powder farmer would:

It was nice and light on the top, but not super deep, made for great skiing though. A little lower I found it was a bit deeper (maybe kneeish):

Looking back at the blackomb glacier:

Had a good day of skiing, and a nice short tour, even if it wasn't exactly gnarnia, then met up with Pulver, Droopy, and SpdFrk for a few beers at the Longhorn. Looks like you guys definitely had just as good a day as we did, but where is the pic of the guy with the crazy boots?

Edit: Also wanted to mention it was the first day skinning with freerides after ditching the trekkers, and its at least a million times more tolerable of an experience going uphill on touring bindings, even these relatively heavy ones

Lucky bastards, after I saw you guys I was stuck riding with my friends who don't stray off the groomers (I guess it was okay though cause my tendonitis came back with a vengeance yesterday) and then I'm an idiot and drove away from the daylots without my gay day-glo racer poles and only realized once I was on the ferry.

P.S. Nice to meet y'all yesterday.

sounds like early onset of osteoarthritis and alzheimers, you shouldve hung back with the geriatric crew.

Brian Finestone (the guy who wrote the guidebook to W/BC) said that it's good to go. They were thinking about closing it, but decided that it didn't represent any sort of threat to their inbounds area at all, so decided to leave it open. Game on!

Good meeting the people I met, sorry I missed the people I didn't. Looks like you guys had a great time. I thought for sure we'd run into each other again at some point, but I guess it wasn't in the cards.

Whatever, dude, sucks to be you stuck in Whistler skiing while I was here IMPROVING MY MIND! Just think of all the stuff you could have LEARNED that day instead of sliding down a stupid hill. You're wasting your life, man.
