    Return To Glory

    To all the abandoneers:

I love how you established a very well respected online community on powdermag.com

I love how you all claim to be hardcore followers of Powder Magazine.

I love the fact that when something did not go your way you can abandon the magazine that fuels the fire for anyone who has ever clicked in.

And since you have decided to leave you have played directly into Primedia's evil hand and are now one step closer to making Powder Magazine disapear.

So I ask all of you that have left to reconsider a move back to Powdermag.com

This will show Primedia that you belive in Powder and want the magazine on the rack for years to come.

It will be the ultimate slap in the face to Primedia and will be the greatest compliment to the whole crew at Powder.

If you truely do love Powder Magazine you will come back and return this message board to greatness.

First of all Beau, fuck off.

Second, I'm behind a firewall so that every click on the chatbored creates a new popup ad for me. I've voiced my concern there.

Pinner you dipshit... I am not whining that you little pussies left all I am saying is if you want to read ski, skiing, and freeze. With their horrible writing and shitty pics go the fuck on. But if you want to save the Magazine of all magazines. Throw down some support.

    Pinner-

In fact if you do want to talk whining. It should be all of you. So you lost some threads and you all witched and whined about it so much that you left.

You yourself said whiners suck. So I guess you suck.

So what you're saying. Is that if I don't post on that. Board then the magazine will fold. Is that. Right? Just asking, because I want to be. Very clear about this.

I dont think I have read of anyone canceling their subscription recently. People still post up about what is going on in the magazine even with all the trouble some subscribers have in actually getting thier delivered to thier door. No reason to fight "the man" when we have Owens who "is the man"

I said it was a step in the wrong direction. It is clear that Primedia does not want Powder in it's line up. Hell they were trying to unload it last year for like $2,000,000. They will use any leverage they can. So why not turn it around on them, say Fuckem' and start posting again?

Maybe it's a good thing if Powder were independent of Primedia.

They're not the only ones; I haven't read that mag in over a year, nor do I care to.

Yeah Shoelaces but they took it off the market as no one would buy with BIKE. I completely agree that Powder should be privately owned but ya gotta play the cards delt.

i heard some bad news that Skiing is looking/trying/thinking about buying out Powder, because Time feels that powder has Skiing audience......So beau's idea to support powder sounds nice, but does a message board really mean shit to them???

How would posting in a free chat room save POWDER? Its been said already, but most of us still subscribe, which is where they get the readers, which is how they sell the ads that have dominated over 70% of the magazine for the last several years.

If Pimevil wants to save POWDER, stop putting money into a website that only generates revenue from advertisers that piss off its visitors.

Web advertising can be done much less obtrusively and safely (i.e, for people behind a firewall) than with all of the pop ups.

TGR is my home, I still view Pmag.com once in a blue moon, but this place is leaps and bounds better as far as quality content.

Only 2 million bucks? Damn, if everyone registered kicks in 1600 bucks we can buy it ourselves!

I hardly think that maggots leaving the forum will decide the outcome of Powder Magazine. Whats their total circulation, and how many people that left powdermag.com dropped their subscription?

I can assure you that Primedia does not give a flying fuck whether you post on that board or not. It has little real effect on their bottom line for the print publication.

if primedia wants to unload powder, they will, and it will have absolutely nothing to do with the maggot community. it will be a business decision, pure and simple. and comparatively, Powder has a small distribution to the competitors.

    Skiguide's got it.

I can't figure out what the moron who started this thread was thinking about, and why he bothered to assume an alias to post it.

I couldn't care less what the URL says at the top of my browser. I choose to frequent the forum with the best content, and least amount of annoyance (i.e., deleted threads, popup ads). In the last several months the TGR forums have won that contest hands down. I find myself looking at the Powder forums less and less.
