    Baker New Years Weekend

Tromped around in towards Bagley Lakes the other day. So nice to be back there with noone else around but me and the pooch. Just about as close to bluebird as we get here.

Next day dawned with a few more inches of fluff. Made the trek out along the ridge to Artist Point. Yes that is the sun in the sky.

overall things were pretty stable on all N and E facing slopes. The main problem was wind loading from the night before. Drifts were 6-8 feet or more on the leeward side. Anyway, I can't wait to get back up there and ski some of this stuff. The BC is huge here.

    I don't see a beacon!
If you have a problem & think that someone else is going to solve it for you then you have two problems.

you know I thought about that... Do they make a beacon that transmits only? I can get him to sit stay come etc... but beacon training may be more difficult.

    They do:

Just keep some liver treats in your pocket and he'll find you.

edit: The technical info indicates that it uses a different frequency so you need an SOS beacon that can receive the alternate frequency. You don't want to be digging out your sled when there's people buried.
