    Ebay question....

    Never bought anything off ebay....

I won the auction, then paypaled the dude....

Sent a message asking if there was anything else necessary, and have gotten no response or info on how/when it was shipped. I paypaled on feb 27.

Guy is a "power seller"- 99 positive feedback so im not particularly worried.....But do I just wait until this thing shows up at my door? Never dealing with Ebay it just seems strange that there is zero communication between buyer and seller?

Give him a few more days to respond.

    Then contact Paypal and Ebay.
Since then it's been a book you read in reverse, so you understand less as the pages turn.

send him another message, if no response then send one more informing him that you will be contacting Ebay and Paypal if he does not respond. I've had pretty good succes with this formula.

power sellers are notoriously pathetic for ignoring email and egay messages.
    It can be very frustrating.
Keep sending him messages. Nothing wrong with that.
Give it at least a week or two before you go all medieval with egay and paypal formal complaints. You have a long time (60 or 90 days?) to file a complaint and get your money back.

The good part is they usually come through with delivery of the items.

The really good part is that if you complain to paypal that it never arrived, they will ask the seller for proof of delivery and if he doesn't have it, you get your refund. That's also the bad part when you are the seller using paypal.

PS - was it "snowdealsnow" out of PA? If so, communication sucks, but the goods always arrive as described.
    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
    Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

Nah this guy is "dirtincoporated", power seller - ton of feedback - 98.2% positive. I sent another message, hopefully he just lets me know whats up. I just find it weird that I paypaled this guy money, and I have never communicated with him....Just send me a generic invoice in which i paypaled. I have a feeling the goods will just show up at the door, but it just seems weird.

    Thanks for the info guys.

If you received an auto-generated invoice by e-mail everything is fine. Powersellers/stores that use eBay to sell gear deal in high volume and have systems which automatically track their auctions/shipping/invoicing stuff, so they will be aware you have paid and will process your order. I know the feeling though, I started with eBay last year and it feels weird sending money without any communication, but with high volume/feedback sellers there is virtually no risk.

Very few sellers bother to contact you in any way. Your stuff just shows up after a while. I find it annoying, but standard. If you care about feedback you usually have to ask for it.

Means you'll get the goods on teh 15th business day after you sent payment.

You get the point? Sometimes these guys package everything up they have sold in a week, and make one trip to the post office on Friday or Monday.

Only if your product doesn't arrive at the end of the period in which the seller has specified for delivery time frames, should you worry.
No shipping info is provided. It says to contact seller. I don't even know how its going to be shipped.

Gramboh - I asked for the invoice and got it through ebay the next day. It said the final amount to paypal including shipping and I did that. That was on the 27th. The invoice was a generic message that is obviously sent to everyone. Makes sense.

Okay. So I sent this guy another message last week, still no response. Am I that wrong to expect a tracking number, or at the least a notification that it was shipped?

Seeing as this is his "business" do I just relax for the next 2 weeks and wait for my shit to get here, or keep annoying him? I think im entitled to know something. What would you do?

Ebay has a mechanism that allows you to obtain the name and tele. # of the seller. Write down his user ID and the auction #. Go to advanced search, which is located in the top right of the auction. Click on the link to contact info. Get his #. Call him. It's been way too long.

This has happened to me a few times before. Generally, the shit just shows up at my front door. These power sellers probably sell stuff on eBay for a living, hence feel that they are too busy to respond to emails, send tracking numbers, etc. Sucks. With 7-day ground, it should arrive any day. And if it doesn't, look into the protection that PayPal gives you. I'm sure there is some way to recover your $$.

Okay, so still getting no response, I sent a claim in through paypal.

BUT, now "My ebay" is telling me I didn't pay for the goods, which I obviously did. What's the deal with that?
